Where I Came From
So I am now quit for two weeks and thought it would be helpful for both myself and others to recount my first two weeks. For starters I used a can a day for 13 years. I started when I was in college. I had a particularly difficult semester and my roommate let me use some of his chew. I noticed it helped a lot and kept me focused. The rest is history.
My First 14 Days
Now my quit started on June 5th. I picked a Friday so days 2 and three were over a weekend. I remembered those being some of the hardest during other quits. I was wrong. Turns out days 4 through 7 I woke up with migraine headaches and went in late to work on the 4th and 5th day. Come the 6th day I did not have a choice I had to be to work on time regardless of how I felt. This meant lots of Coke and Excedrine Migraine and I was able to make it through the next couple days that way. By day five I was done with the headaches but still feeling gross from the detox.
Once day 10 rolled around I was done with all the quitters flu garbage and I started with the cravings and still stuck in the obnoxious fog. By day 12 I was ready to be done but I reached out on day twelve and thirteen and got some helpful feed back from a few of the guys on here. Then today, day 14, rolls around and like magic I feel like a million bucks.
I am well aware the fight is not over but I can now at least feel some of the benefits to removing nicotine from my life. Right now I feel almost as good as I did while I was chewing and I don't have the constant worry of how and when I was gonna be able to get my next dip in. In hopes that this benefits other quitters I will try to keep an update to my progress every few days or weeks. Ultimately as I seen changes. I hope to give people a timeline to help them quit. Just know that everyone's quit will affect them differently.

18 Day Update
I was going to do this weekly but I thought I would edit it early since I have noticed a significant change. So as of today I have mild cravings but all in all I feel as close to "normal" as I remember normal feeling like. This is a pretty huge step for me and I am really enjoying it. I have a long way to go but the relief I am feeling is very welcome.

Gremlin, Just checked your posting history. Right on Brutha! Keep up posting roll as consistently as you have. Everything on this site is secondary to that. Post roll, truly believe your post is a promise, and repeat everyday. That's a great recipe for quitting. Great job and keep grinding.

Glad you're quit. Tobacco never did anything for you. It didn't help one iota. Not with studying. Not with writing papers. Not with a damned thing. Get that through your head. Hate it for what it is, an addictive poison that kills. That's it.
