Names Jim, I'm 22. I started dipping when I was 15 and dipped grizzly wintergreen long cut for most of those 7 years. I had been wanting to quit the past year trying to wean off but always bounce back to a can a day. So finally when my girl friend said she was gunna leave if I didn't quit I decided to take it a little more serious. I googled how to quit dipping and found KTC I started reading a few articles and heard about the nic bitch. Finally it all made since I had to quit cold turkey. So I spit my dip out and flushed the rest I had! And after that first day I developed a hate for the nic bitch and it turned around my whole reason for quitting. I had to get nicotine out of my life for good! After day two I told my friends and family I decided to quit and they gave me good support and now i can't ever cave because not only will I disappoint my self but it will be a horrible example for anyone else that wants to quit! I'm currently 16 days quit and can't imagine myself ever going back.

Its great to have you aboard and I like reading this intro. You have a strong quit started now. I enjoyed talking with you in chat last night too. You have my support whenever you need it brother.

nice start Jim. I dipped for 23 yrs and could never quit, just stop occassionally. I've learned how to quit and I do it daily, right here at KTC. The tools I've gathered and learned here have taught me more than I could ever have learned on my own. For a good dose of accountability and 100% support, I hope you post roll with us daily. Its worked for me for almost 1500 days.

Good for u! I wish I had your mindset when I was your age. I can't say much more about this site than what's already been said by the 2 vets who posted before me. Pay attention to what they wrote. They know what they're talking about. Welcome aboard!

Howdy Jim! My name is Jon. I'm 28, and like you...Grizzly Wintergreen was the shit keeping me down. Been doing it since High School like you too. The veterans here have given me a lot of support and a lot of advice these last couple days, as well as a few people fairly new in their quit just like me. I'm here with you, quitting along side of you. Lets put that Grizzly Bear down for good. Have you started posting roll? I've found that doing it first thing in the morning before I go to work, reinforces my attitude and holds me accountable since it's as good as my promise and as serious as a swear.
On a side note, Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff has helped me tremendously. The wintergreen is pretty close, and it will help you get through the clinch of hell several times a day. If you want, you should try it. There's also a link around here somewhere for Cold Turkey Alternatives (I'm still new, but I can recall seeing one). Anyhow man, welcome aboard, these guys know what they're talking about, and it doesn't get any more serious than this.

I too started out like you and Jiffy and even had a "break" in my 20's. Woke up one morning and kicked the can with no problem! However, 2yrs later for absolutely no reason I picked it up again like I never set it down.
I urge you as the others have to listen to the vets and post roll every-day. At 1st I thought, post roll every day - That's for pussies... After only 12-days in I see the value and have committed to do so and see the pro's to making a daily promise to a bunch of guys all wanting me to succeed.
Stay quit my friend, stay quit!

Jim whether you know it or not you got some great advice up above...do you see the common thread? Quitting in your early 20's is easier than later in life, but lots of young guys fuck it up because they don't realize they are an addict, and their quit turns into a break because they think they can cave and pick up quitting the next day. The fail rate for guys your age on this site is far greater than addicts twice your age. So above all else take your quit seriously. Post roll everyday as soon as you wake up. Good luck.

Worry about this shit killing me everyday. Wish I could hit the reset button, but life is not a video game.
I'm only 4 days quit but this place has got me motivated, excited and stoked to have found it. Join our quit group, the Pre HOF February one.
Post roll in the morning. These vets really help you out.

I'll send you my number in a private message brother. BTW quitting early is a huge deal. There are very few of us that can do this and stick with it. I say us because I am a young quitter at 26. We can fight this addiction together. There is strength in numbers.
