Title: Quitting
Post by: faneidde on June 18, 2014, 07:47:00 PM
Hello everyone, my name is Ed and I've been dipping since 2005. Grizzly wintergreen was my dip of choice and I've been as high as a can and a half a day. I tried to quit on my own a couple months ago and made it 2 and a half days. With the death of Tony Gwynn, I figured I had better stop on my own before I stop because I'm dead.

Been clean 25 hours and still doing OK.

You can do this.

One day at a time. Just focus on today. Just today. Get your name on the sept 2014 roll and then keep your promise to yourself and all of us that for today.... Just for today.... You won't use nicotine. Then tomorrow, as soon as you wake up, post roll again. You can do anything for 24 hours. I mean... You would sleep with Chelsea Clinton for 24 hours if your life depended in it. Right? So you can quit nicotine for one day. Unless you are a man with no honor or integrity. If you are a man of your word... And you follow the plan every day.... Success is guaranteed.

Will there be bad days? Yes. You've poisoned your brain for thousands of days. No pain no gain. Write the bad days in your intro, because it is good to look back and remember the bullshit that nicotine did to you as you progress.

My number is yours if I can help. Just send me a pm. You won't believe how good life is without nicotine. You really have no idea.

Welcome aboard. I would wish you luck but we don't need that here we have our word.

Welcome and congrats on quitting. I can't add much to what you've already been told. Post roll EVERY DAY and get involved. If you need anything, shoot me a PM.

Faneidde,

Welcome to the Sultans. You've just joined the baddest group of accountability-enforcers in the universe. They will hold your feet to the fire daily as much as can be done in cyberspace to help your resolve to quit.

Read as much as you can...tons of info in this community. Post daily (early) to take the option to use nicotine off the table. Build a network of fellow quitters to help you in the quit. Stay close because the next week (or more) is gonna SUCK. LOOT (Old man of the Forum) says to learn from the SUCK, sear it into your memory so you NEVER want to go back. Also know that nicotine withdrawals never killed anyone, even though it may seem like it.

Proud to be a Sultan with you. Today, Tomorrow, and every damn day afterwards.

good choice and welcome

I remember when Tony Gwynn was diagnosed with oral cancer. He had surgery then did an interview later and said things were good. The treatment was working and he was very positive.

Now he is dead. 54 years old.

Post roll every day, promise to quit, and keep your word.

It's that easy to save your life

pm me if you need a number. Stay quit.

PB

Thanks pbrain.

Woke up today and felt fine, then got a major craving around 10 am, which was great news. It meant I no longer was constantly craving the black menace. I'd just have to fight each one as it comes. Another day clean, onward and upward.

Craves suck. Especially at first. This site is full of high performimingbpeoplevthatcwin at everything we do... Except that we lost to an addiction for years. Once your brain reprograms to view craves as wins... They will suck a lot less.
