Quit Date
June 28 2015
. I've visited KTC before maybe a couple months ago. I had never seriously looked into quitting till the past couple weeks and finally decided to make a legitimate effort last week. June 28th was my last dip and I never want to do it again.
I started dipping casually when I was a sophomore in high school but it was never a serious habit. I played baseball and still do professionally. So needless today dip is a pretty big influence in my life. I'm around it literally every day. I started dipping seriously at the beginning of college and it got its worst this past year as it was my first in professional baseball. Been dipping almost a can a day for about 10 months now
. Long bus rides, countless hours in hotels, sitting in dugouts game after game(I'm a starting pitcher so I literally only play once a week). Dipping became way to prevalent in my life be I realized that and I'm ready to quit forever.
I'm 22 and have always realized I needed to quit at some point and never planned on dipping my whole life. But it was time to actually take action on that notion. I feel like it's pretty common that after you quit you begin to realize how ridiculous the habit was. How you fully understood that it wasn't good for you but continued to use it. And honestly I've been feeling really depressed about this part of it. I have the feeling of letting my family down. Letting my girlfriend down. Just doing something harmful to myself that I could have avoided and hope doesn't affect my life from here on out. I never want to dip again. I could really use some of you guys support on this one especially some of the long time quitters that want to throw some knowledge at me to help me deal with this down feeling I have right now. Probably a result of the nicotine withdrawal why I'm being so emotional right now haha sorry fellas

Great intro, and welcome!
professional baseball? Man what a dream!!! You are I the right place. Her you post your promise daily to yourself and everyone else in your group that for the day, and only that day, you won't use nicotine. And you can do anything for a day if you are a man of your word. Which you obviously are. But... I highly suggest exchanging numbers with a few people on here. Because when you quit as a team, it is stronger than quitting alone. And if you have a moment of vulnerability where you feel weak, sending out a text to a couple of people and seeing the crazy amount of support you will get for them makes this real - you don't let your team down.
Posting daily is essential. Exchanging numbers is essential. And realizing that you are winning is essential too. Enjoy your great life man - you are taking it back!
I am quit with you today!

I really appreciate your support. You don't understand how much it means considering most of the guys I tell I'm quitting are wondering why and giving me a hard time!! Man baseball is a different life I'll tell you what. But I would definitely be open to exchanging numbers with some guys. Not sure who or where to find them but I think it would definitely help. Also do you suggest doing the roll call?

October 2015 is your group. Roll call is the foundation of this site. Did you see the number next to my name? I haven't missed posting roll a single day and I won't. Freedom is important!
Once you post roll you'll get people reaching out. You are in the right place. And quitting has benefits that you cannot imagine.
Keep your chin up fastball. This is one of those life changing decisions that no one ever regrets making.

Hey fastball, I hate reading stories of famous baseball players diagnosed with mouth cancer. Hopefully you'll throw this shit away and be done with it! Takes alot bigger man to put this shit in the dumpster than it does to put it in his lip! You can do this, it will not be easy but you will have plenty support. You have to reach out and use it. Grab you some fake dip, seeds, gum whatever to help you through it. Oh yeah I'm jealous, pro ball was always a dream of mine but this is about you not me! Quitting with you today my friend!

Going great honestly. It's funny because I used to walk around the clubhouse and ball field and wonder how guys DIDNT dip. It just seemed like something you did. But now that I'm off and have been off I see the other side. Not a good habit. And not something I needed to do any longer. Not really struggling with cravings so I'm feeling great. Love the new me so far.

Solid intros are like bright lights to a moth - we just gravitate to them. Baseball...for a time, was my biggest achilles heal. Certainly not like pro/farm ball, but us city-leaguers like to pretend and like the big leaguers we could dip with the best of them. 573 days later and my hindsight is better than 20/20. If I could look at those other players through the same eyes I do now, I'd see things like: unknowing addiction, dependency, false sense of security, stimulants, gum disease, tooth decay, cancer. All of that, and more, is what I see when I look at a dipper. Maybe next time when you look across the dugout at a fellow player grabbing a fat pinch you'll start to see the same.
Post roll every day - figure out how to do it with your phone since you'll often be on the road. Get some numbers so people can post for you if your in a jam. Post roll (i.e. make that promise) every day at all costs. We're all pulling for you - if we had an inkling of your balls to do this at 22, we'd all be better off.

Congrats Fastball on mustering the courage to turn things around on the nic bitch. This could be your first step to freedom if you utilize all of the tools on this site. I have to say, IÂ’d give anything to go back in time to tell my younger self about KTC. Us older guys (IÂ’m 34) are disgusted at how much time and money weÂ’ve spent on dip over the years. IÂ’d tried patches, gum, weaning, chantix, pouches, you name it. Nothing worked for me. IÂ’ve now been quit 6 months because of this site which was unimaginable when I started. What makes KTC successful is the accountability that comes with posting roll every day with addicts that are going through the same things you are. Post every day and read as much as you can on this site and you can quit for good. I quit with you today man. If you ever need support just hit me up on PM.

Appreciate the support so much guys. This site has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Just realizing other guys are having the same problem as you is extremely encouraging. I will continue to post roll and help encourage others and accept encouragement from others. Everyone on here is fuckin awesome and quitting with you guys is going to be a blast. Keep fighting the good fight men

This statement right here - is pure badassery. Proud of you and congrats on your promotion; I'm even more proud of you, however, for posting roll every day. Shit, you may even start pitching better than you are already without exogenous stimulant and toxins in your body every day. Keep it up FB, keep it up.

Thanks work!! Sorry I was late getting back to this. Anyways the quit is raging on. One of the funniest parts about it to me is how quick my head snaps when I hear a can snapping in the background!! So pathetic! Not even out of craving just pure habit and curiousity. Some really good news is that I've convinced a couple other guys to quit as well. We will see if they take my advice and use KLC.
So I've been going strong. Still get some weird feelings once in a while. Feel a little down. Maybe even a little depressed. But I try to work my way through it. Get on here and read some stuff maybe post for a new guy. Everyone here is awesome and I'm glad i have some cool dudes and gals on here to encourage me. Id like to get plenty of responses to this one! Everyone who reads this should post an update and let me know how things are going, newbs to hall of famers! Have a great one brothers.

Things couldn't be better here! I love quitting.
What you are experiencing is normal. You are kinda reprogramming your brain. It sucks for sure, but you'll only have tondo this once. Quitting as a team is the only way to go. Ktc rocks!

Wow. You got a great attitude FB and you are certainly showing your fellow newbs how it's done. For the record, you could suck at baseball for all I care, it's your quit that I find inspiring; the fact you're a stud on the mound just makes you all the more unique.
My update - coming up on 600 days; the man who posted prior to me has been an inspiration and friend to me from the beginning. It's the brotherhood and friendship like that which I cherish and makes this whole "quitting" thing so important to me. In time, the bonds you start here become bonds in other facets of your life. Legitimate friends, like no others. These are friends who are dedicated to making sure I save my own life every day ...and I have no other friends like that.

Great job Fastball and good to know you are spreading the good word. I'm sure some of those guys that gave you shit for quitting are pretty jealous of the fact you've now made it almost a month quit. Quitting can be more difficult not only for young guys like you but for people who are surrounded by dip daily so congrats on staying strong and keep up the good work. Quit with you today.

Nice quit going on fastball!

Hey man. I'm a June 28th quitter too (2011 though).
Keep plowing through the shit and you will come out better because of it. Glad to see you're doing it with a smile.
Let me know if you need anything.
