Hi, I'm Schmitty. I've quit once before for almost a year. Eventually, something got screwed up in my life, and I gave in to the mood boost I remembered and found myself back in this horrible habit. It's been about a year since my last quit attempt failed, and about four or five since I started. I just posted roll call in May. I'm doing anything and everything possible this time. This is it. No more. I'll take all the support I can get. It's been 20 minutes and I already feel it a little. :(
For the curious: I dance. The first time I quit, I went out of state to a dance event with friends. I was busy from 9 every morning until 3 every morning. I didn't have a spare moment for sleep much less dip. This event was a little over three days long. I attribute my ability to quit to my lack of idle time. I won't have that luxury this time, but I'll do my best to spend my first three days out of the car and with people so I don't give in.

Welcome, dancer. By the way, "do my best..." is addict speak. It is like you're asking for our forgiveness for your short-comings in advance. Well, I personally don't give a shit if you half-ass it, give 110% or whatever as long as you stay quit.
That is your commitment when you come here. There is no "did my best" about it. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! That is all there is to it. You quit, give your word, and that's that.

Hey Schmitty,
Just adding that it's more like Purgatory than Hell . . . . Work your way through this and you do not end up in Hell. Keep dipping and Hell is certain to follow.
