How's it going my names Erik I've been dipping since I was about 16, being 19 now and waking up and getting ready for class, put the morning dip in toss it out a hour later and brush my teeth, and taking a deep look in the mirror every morning, the fact 3 years ago I didn't think that I'd be hooked on 2 cans of Cope wintergreen a day. I've held this same ritual for the last 2 years now, and I'm tired of it.
I think about how all my friends and soon to be wife look at me, and I can think none of them have seen me without a chaw in ever. And I'm ready to quit, there's been plenty of times I have done this because the girlfriend says hey you need to quit for me please, and than later that day or week get in a argument and buy a can to piss her. But this time I'm doing it for me not no one else and I know I'm ready. I've took my Time slowing down and slowly mixing 1/2 can of smokey mountain in with a can of Cope until today 3 months later, and while searching for ways to help get off the stuff I found this site, and I got myself down to a 1/4 can of cope and I'm ready to kick this addiction square in the damn ass, and say I don't need this shit anymore. Day 1 of freedom and I'm looking forward to many more 4/11/14 will be my first day

Welcome Erik,
You seem to have a great attitude about quitting. I was in your shoes 28 days ago and my advice would this: Jump in with both feet, drink the Kool-aid, buy into the site, how ever you want to put it use this site and all the tools it offers and you will find it much easier then quitting on your own.
If you need a contact send me a PM, i'll give you my number. Also, jump on live chat and meet some of the quitters on there, it's a great resource to help with cravings/rage/etc.
Welcome to KTC

Hey Erik. First, congrats on making this decision at such a young age. I wish I would have. You're in the right place if you're serious about quitting. Post roll every morning and get involved with your fellow quitters. PM me if you want to swap numbers or if you need anything.

Congrats man! Get some phone numbers and take it a day at a time. I've only been here 26 days, but I can tell you a phone number can save you from caving.
Quitting with you.

Welcome! Nothing makes me happier than to see a guy like you at your age really give this shit up. It will be difficult for 3-5 days but the taste of freedom is unbelievable. Post roll and get involved with this site. Exchange some numbers with the other July quitters and be on your way. The formula is pretty simple - give your word and keep it...then do ita again tomorrow. So each time you think about a dip or caving - ask yourself - am I a man of my word?

Welcome Erik. Damn near everyone here wishes we had quit when we were your age. Congrats on taking your life back. Use this support to help yourself through this and you will succeed. Get numbers, go in chat, post your thoughts here in your intro and post roll every day.
We quit now. Not forever. Just now. When it gets difficult, take a deep breath and focus on being quit for that moment and the crave will pass. Fact is, the crave will pass whether you use nicotine or not, but they will never stop unless you quit.
PM me if you need anything.
Quit with you.

Welcome. I will say the same thing that everyone else will say here. I wish I was as young as you when I quit. That being said, realize that quitting at your age is one of the hardest things you will ever do. I've read that 3% your age quit and stay quit. At first this may seem like a low number, but really it's a good number. It means it's up to you! It means it can be done. How bad do you want it?
I believe two major factor for the low percentage is knowledge and the feeling of invincibility. I know when I was your age I could do no wrong. I was not concerned about what the poison what do to me in the future.
Understanding your addiction is paramount to your success. Begin reading everything you can on nicotine/addiction. Knowledge is power. Learn your enemy, it knows you. There is a lot of information on this site. Learn the truths and the lies will no longer rule your thoughts.
Post roll with us. Make some friends. Stay out of that 97%! It's up to you.

Nice screen name. Welcome.
You have a post count of 1, which is your intro. You gotta let the site work, which means posting roll. Find your group and post a day 2 today. The folks in that group will be your brothers as you fight through this battle. You'll be experiencing many of the same things, so y'all can't rant and fuss about the misery. Do not take the rage out on friends and family. Bring it here.

July 2014 is your quit group. Get to know the people in there. Quitting after only three years is awesome. Wish I would have done the same. I would have saved about $20,000 to $30,000 had I done that.

I know you are a youngin but look at those numbers...$20-$30,000 dollars...i don't know exactly where you live or what your plans and/or goals are, but you can do awful lot with that much money. I could pay off my student loans (29k still!) have a nice down payment on a little bigger house...my suggestion, take what you would spend on chew, put it in a savings account or a coffee pot and reward yourself after a year with a bad ass vacation or something else that blows your skirt up.
