Title: My quit
Post by: Jmakin on September 13, 2013, 09:03:00 PM
Just found this site
Chewed for 30 years, tried quitting just about as many times
This time feels different not sure why..
Day 8 for me, having sucess with the oral fixation part with Jake's mint dip. When I am craving- a dip of the cola/mint/cinnamon does the job for now...Variety is key, keep your brain guessing.
The nicotine withdrawal is at the usual point, insomnia, or at lest it feels like insomnia. Wake up at least 5 times a night. This is what usually ends it for me.
Not this time tho, gonna bust thru, I am sick of lying to myself that cancer can't happen to me and that chewing tobacco is not that bad of a habit. Tired of brushing my teeth at night and spitting in the sink until no more skoal specks show. Damn how the hell did I ignore how friggin disgusting that is for 30 years?!?!
And yet as I type I know the answer...nicotine.
Gonna break her hold on me, day by day, hour by hour , minute by minute...second by friggin second.
it's different this time because I am finally mad, mad as heck that a decision I made at 16 still rules my life 30 years later. Nicotine is a drug and I am the addict. today I admit it, today I deny her, today I will win.
I will finally win, day by day minute by minute second by second....

Welcome my brother. I am new to this site as well and have been nicotine free for 14 days. I cannot read enough of the inforrmation on this site which has helped me deal with the cravings. I congratulate you on making one of the best decisions of your life. Now that you have made the decision to quit I recommend you visit the welcome center and read all of the topics. The most important topic in my opinion is the section that discusses roll call and how to post roll call. I recommend that you post roll as soon as possible. Welcome my brother and if you need someone to talk to please send me a PM and I will send you my digits.

Actually bro... 72 hrs after you quit, nicotine was gone from your system. Head games is what you have to deal with now. 8 days is badass bro. By coming here and posting... You just put your quit into overdrive! We know how you feel... We know what to do... We know what to expect. Get on up to the Welcome Center link at the top of the page. Learn why and how we post roll with our quit groups. You will be in the December group... That is the month that you will hit your 100 day "Hall of Fame" milestone. Welcome to KTC bro... Welcome to freedom. It's pretty damn cool. Pm me if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.

Well congratulations on finding your nutsack! I like you took a long time to find my own. Read the site, post roll daily and quit like a beast every day. None of us can be your momma and hold you hand but from the sound of your intro you too are pissed off and don't need a momma right now.

Daily accountability is a must in here, meet some new people, start your roll and continue to stay quit.

You are in great company here with many accomplished quitters and some damn fine people. If you ever need anything or if I can help you at all please do not hesitate to holler at me.
