For some background, I've dipped pretty consistently for the last 7 years. I started using as an energy boost while studying in college then started using it while driving long distances--almost always bumming off friends who used it. After a while, I started buying my own cans and began finding other times/places to throw a lip in: on the couch after a long day, playing golf, after meals, at the movie theater, after sex, after running, after drinking, after waking up, and on and on...I'm sure many of you have a nearly identical story.
I've been on a couple of stoppages in the past year that exceeded 30 days, but I've ended up caving both times. I've gotten that taste of freedom only to find a way to burn it all down in one weak moment. I utilized another dip-quitting forum for the most recent stoppage and that has been the most effective method in terms of keeping me accountable each day and giving me a reason to stay quit. I've realized that I stick to goals and habits best when I'm accountable to someone/something outside of myself. I meet deadlines/goals/criteria that are imposed upon me rather than those that I plan and set out to complete on my own. Having a place to post roll each day provides the structure and routine that I need to stay quit.
I'm no longer a person who dips or uses any other form of nicotine. I truly hate how I feel when I use it and even more I hate myself when I'm not able to stop the cycle knowing how great it is to be nicotine-free. I'm quit today and for all my days to follow. Looking forward to changing my life here with all of you.

Great intro, but don't worry about quitting tomorrow. Get through today, then focus on the the next day. It's a method that works! I quit with you today!

ONe day at a time. We aren't promised tomorrow so we don't promise tomorrow. Plus, we can only handle so much at a time. If you say anymore ever then....wow. Get yourself a case or more of water and drink drink drink. It helps with the withdrawals. Some fruit juice like Cranberry would be of great benefit to you as well. Dig into this site. It has tons of information and things to help distract your mind. Cravings do not last if you don't give them the power to last. And by giving them power to last I mean that if you think about them and you don't use coping skills you give the cravings power. Post roll every morning as your promise to yourself and others that you will not use.
Just for today, Self.

Sounds pretty similar to my story and many others. Started dipping occasionally around college then morphed into every damn second of every damn day. Like the guys above said, just quit one day at a time. It seems a long way off but before you know it, you'll be 100 days in. Those days add up quick. Then 200,300, Etc. The feeling of knowing that you don't have nic controlling your brain, your schedule and every activity during the day is a great thing. Keep quitting every day and oost roll to hold yourself accountable. I quit with you today
