Hello my name is Mike, im 23 years old and I started dippin about 7 years ago. It started for me when I played baseball in high school, which im sure im not alone on that one. I did it on and off until i graduated where mainly I was just a smoker. After that I joined the navy And ive been on about a can a day(usually more if were underway) for the last 3 1/2 years. I switched to dipping over smoking after I joined because i could barely breath when we would workout/exercise and i figured it would be easier on my body, and it was physically i suppose. But now that ive only got about 2 months left of service I decided it was time to quit and not in the half-ass ways ive tried in the past. No more bullshit. I know its gonna suck, but I feel like this is something I have to do for myself. And im hoping that with yours guys help I can crush this thing and kick it to the curb.

I will let the veterans give you the instructions on how to post roll and get active but let me start by saying congratulations. Quit now and don't wait until you have been addicted to this crap for decades like some of us did. Put 5 or 10 dollars a day in a jar for your kids instead of in your mouth and trying to kill yourself. I sure wish I would have done that. I would be in much better health and have 20 or 30 thousand dollars in a jar. Thank you for your service to our great country. Quit on.

Hey mvonb23, I am new here as well. I am new and struggling with keeping dip off my mind, but I know that I can do this. We can do this! Hang in there, bud.

If I can do it, anyone can. This won't be easy, but it is completely worth it. Log on to the site as often as you need to. There are always vets hanging around that are more than happy to talk you through any situation. I know I couldn't have done it without a few of the guys out there. I quit with you! PM me if you need anything!

Mike, for some reason younger guys are not as successful as the older guys when they come to this site. Even though the older guys are way more tied to dip then you are, they more often come to this site desperate and fed up with an addiction controlling their lives, where youg guys come to the site for health reasons. Usually that's not enough because quitting dipping does not make you feel healthier, in fact it usually makes you feel worse....keep in mind that is temporary. So I am asking you to dig deep and ask yourself, are you ready to get this chain off your back, And beat down your addiction? And are you ready to make that decision every day for the rest of your life? If so proceed.

Hell yea im ready. And i definitely feel what your sayin bout being a younger guy comin here for the health reasons, thats me in a nutshell right there. But after being on here and reading some of these stories, I started to realize that if i didn't quit now I would without a doubt become one of those older guys who let it run their lives. I decided that I dont want that to happen. And thats why im here now midway thru day day 2 with no fingernails, a shit ton of sunflower seed shells, and gum wrappers all over the place. Im moody, irritable, anxious and i didn't sleep for shit. But im not giving up. I can and will beat this.

Good to hear. I'll help you in any way I can. For now do everything in your power to keep your boat afloat. Don't worry about anything other than keeping dip out of your mouth. It will get easier but for now it sucks. Good luck.
