Thanks KTC. I cannot believe how many years I have deluded myself by trying to quit with NRT. I am a nicotine addict whether it is gum, dip, or chew. So, thanks for the right point of view. Day 2! Off for a run to distract me from my cravings...

Welcome! We are all here to support and help you in anyway we can. We are all living it, walking the same path. If you need strength, help, motivation or a good kick in the ass, just ask! You don't have to go through this alone.
Get phone numbers!! It is important that you have people to call or text when the cravings are strong and the times are tough. It is important that you have people that are looking out for you and noticing whether you are posting roll or not. In turn, you look out for others as well. You become accountable to these people and them to you. That how this works. If you want my number, click on my name and send me a private message.
You post roll first thing every morning. You give your word to a total bunch of strangers that you will not use nicotine for that day, not forever, just for that one day.
Our word is our honor and we do not break our word. We stay quit for the day and then the next day we wake up and do it all again.
Quitting is a choice, you choose to put the crap in your mouth or you don't. You are in control!

Hey DNS,
Just remember, the choice you made to quit on the first day is the EXACT same choice you must make every day. Never lose this feeling of satisfaction that you have with making that decision.
Using tobacco is also a decision. If you quit then do it. Just make the decision to not use the shit and follow through with it.

It took me by surprise to compute the following.... I am on Day 3 of my quit.I have probably dipped or used nicotine in some form for 9,500 to 10,000 days. This habit will not be my legacy or continue to define me. I fear dying of cancer - dying of something self induced seems so wrong - a long suicide.
I really like the focus on quitting every day. Thanks KTC

Remember, this ain't no habit it is a full blown addiction. You will never be cured, but you can keep the beast at bay if you are vigilant.
