I have been dipping and smoking for about 7 years now, after a long talk with a friend whom I did not know was a former dipper, he directed me to this site. I have been "wanting" to quit for a long time, but it was always oh next week or "I haven't had a dip in awhile one more is ok". Bullshit, she is a nasty bitch as my friend put it and it is time to stop this once and for all. I have the mind of an addict and even as I type this, it is saying for me to just delete it and to put a dip in. Today is the first day of my quit (only been free a few hours) and yet I have taken every pack of smokes and can of dip i have and disposed of them. Time to kick this bullshit once and for all.
If anyone can point me in the direction of a quit group I would greatly appreciate it

Hey texas I too am originally from texas and will hopefully be back home soon but I quit today and expect to see you at role everyday with me!

You made it to roll, Son, good job! Now, post every day, honor the promise you make daily. Other than that, i recommend learning all you can about the addiction this evil poison weed is engineered to create in you, and also making friends here to build out a network for accountability and support. Congratulations, you are doing this!!

Tex,
Congrats on getting ahold of your life my man. All of us on here let our addictions get out of control, but it never is too late to get yourself back on track.
Making friends in your quit group is the best thing you can do. You want it so if you dont post roll, you have 15 texts on your phone wondering where you are... I know this because I wasnt very active in my group, and I regret it.
Were all behind you on this one buddy, Read up on all the information you can and hold on tight for some withdrawls. Give it a few weeks and you will be feeling more like yourself. I was glued to the timeline article on the KTC general website, it held pretty accurate for my quit.
Also, it helps to create a list of triggers that may possibly set you off. Mine was driving, showering, and being bored. But, everytime I got in the car, the shower, or was sitting around, I knew I had to blast some music, take a cold shower, or get off my ass and do something so i didnt get tempted.
You can do it buddy

Congrats and welcome, Tx.
You have made a great decision. Not gonna lie...its gonna suck. But then at some point it will suck less and eventually not suck hardly at all. See, we are addicts, you and I. Addicted to a nasty little weed. But we are grown ass men that can rise above our addictions if we stay quit! You gotta shove your boot, (all Texans wear boots), up the nic whore's ass every day.
You can do this and as long as you promise on roll everyday and remain a man of your word, we'll have your back. When it gets tough, focus on the now, breath deep and do something to get your mind occupied. Remember that the cravings will pass with or without nicotine.
Use this site. It works. Get help, give help and participate.
Shoot me a PM if you need anything.
I quit with you.
Doc-I'm quit right now!

I quit with you today Texas, and fuck it, I'll quit with all of the other states except for the ones I have warrants in.
