I am married to a wonderful lady for 14 years and have two wonderful kids. I work in a manufacturing plant as a forklift driver and run on a vol fire dept as a firefighter/emt and also vol on a k9 search and rescue team.
I been trying to quit for many years with both ciggys and snuff and decided today I am going to quit no matter what. If I could quit for a week or two then I should quit for a lifetime . I know that I will need all the help that I can so I be here, when I can fight the kids for the computer time.
I been smoking and chewing for over 35 yrs and now its time to quit and begin the New year and Life snuff free.
-
welcome to the suck, i like the idea of HOF for a new year's resolution rather than quit then. one note.....we work or do the quit here, i learned it early cause i thought of trying to quit. get ready to get your life back!
-
You get out what you put in. Post roll EVERY morning (takes 2 minutes) and then read read read when you can.
Stay close to the site
Stay accountable to your self and your quit brothers
Stay Quit
CD is right...he is quit. You don't get shit by trying.
Welcome! Ask for help if you need it - there is a ton of support here!

Welcome Bigron, really glad you've joined us, for you and for us.
Every one of the people on here knows just exactly how hard it is to quit, and every one of us has had to come to the same conclusion:
I am an addict.
We are all nicotine addicts, evey last one of us. The difference between us and other addicts is we don't use nicotine anymore. We come here every single day and promise to each other, and to ourselves, that we won't use nicotine IN ANY FORM for just that one day. No nicorette, no cigars, no cigarettes, no chew, nothing containing nicotine. Just for one day. And we deal with tomorrow when it gets here.
You won't find this kind of understanding or support anywhere else, not even from your nearest and dearest. They don't get it. We do. And we hold each other accountable. We're going to do the same with you, and expect you to hold us accountable also. No excuse to use is good enough, we've heard them all. Shit, most of us have used them all.
You've just joined a group of thousands of men and women who are living better because they rid themselves of nicotine. Congratulations, and welcome.

You have come to a great place to be like all of us ...a Quitter ! We are all addicts here and together we can snuff out the NIC monster. Take it one minute one hour one day at a time and find quit buddies to call and/or text to help when you cant get on website for help. Be accountable and post rollcall and best of luck. Im on day 55 and I too was using for over 35 years so if I can quit I know you can too Bro.
I PM"ed you by the way.

Hello all, First of all I was a quitter for over a year and a member of the killthe can.org. To make a long story short. I fell to the nic bitch and the only person i can blame is me,myself, and I.
I did not follow with the killthecan roll call and did not ask for help and then here I am a couple of years later. Am ready to quit again. Yes, I know what I am going to have to do all over again.
I just wish that my former quitters will accept me back into this organization. I realize for a long time I messed up and have come back again with my tail between my legs.
-
Well Ron you know the drill I'm sure; answer the 3 questions:
1. What happened?
2. Why did it happen?
3. WTF are you gonna do different!
Answer to your old group and your new group.
-
Here's your first intro. I'm sure the two will get combined.

HEllo BIGRON. Im a fellow West-by god-Virginian. I have been quit for 104 days today. This is one of the best decisions Ive ever made. Its not easy by any stretch but it gets easier. The program works and you get out of it exactly what you put into it. If you drink the KOOL AID and commit hole hog, your quit will be easy. If you half ass it and just show up to post roll and leave, quitting will suck dog dick. My suggestion would be to read everything you can on this site and dont be bashful about reaching out to me or anybody else. Everybody here has walked the walk youre walking, some are just a little further down the road but rest assured, we all want to see you succeed. Know your enemy. Check your inbox for my number. If I can help your quit in any way, shoot me a text or give me a call

With over 400 posts I'm surprised you don't know the drill Ron. Those 3 questions WT listed need to be answered and shared with your old group, your new group, and you might as well throw it into your intro. I hope you learn the quit formula this time around.

If I could quit for a week or two then I should quit for a lifetime.

Welcome bigron to the site. Grab a hold of punkin and listen to him. He is a badass quitter and knows what is up.
I picked these phrases out of your intro because I had the same thoughts when I came here 4 years ago. If I could just quit was my mantra for sure. You have to do this one day at a time, not just for a couple of weeks or a lifetime. Just for today! Honestly we are used to hearing our addicted brains telling us that all along the path of our using nicotine. If I could, now it is time, begin the new year and Life...
I really don't want to belittle your words, and I know this is just a post from an addict like me. I just want you to understand that it is a daily battle and you can't look ahead any further past today to rely on yourself to quit.
I think you posted today? bigron tell your story? Was that you? If so congrats to you. Get those quit day numbers in there to remind yourself how far you've come with this!! I quit with you today only man!!

Of course you will be accepted back, Ron, but you need to explain yourself with full, honest answers to the 3 questions.

tis a shame, but what you are now experiencing is a part of the education process my friend.
You say that you were quit here before , that you drifted away and fell. And now have come back.
it is at this point that for yourself the most (and for some others) is that a little introspection is needed. The 3 questions that are below in your thread are something that are supposed to represent a deep thought for yourself to look deep down inside and really take the time to answer.
So as you think of those answers, look into a mirror, maybe have that family picture sitting next to it, and write them down.
People fall, it is the getting back up that is the important part. So .....

I was scanning back through roll call from today and saw that you posted you lost your job today. I just wanted you to know that it was seen and that I am really sorry to hear that especially since it sounded unexpected. I also wanted to encourage you to hang tough through this with your Quit. Going backwards will not solve anything. Hopefully your head is in a good place overall. Many times these set backs in life lead to or open unexpected doorways. Again, just wanted you to know your comment was seen and you got folks in your corner!

I want you to know that their are others on KTC including myself who have lost their jobs pre hall of fame. I lost mine a few months back and since that time I have made significant mprovements in my life while looking for a new job. I have lost 45 pounds by eating healthy and exercise. I have focused not only on improving my body but also my mind. Remember everything happens for a reason and that one problem + nicotine = 2 problems. Remember to take care of yourself while you search out a new position. Please see your inbox. I have sent you my contact info. I am in your corner brother and if I can help you in any way - I will. Something good will happen for you. Keep up the faith. I had a interview today that went awesome. Great things will happen for you as well. You have quit nicotine. You are a winner. You will succeed.
