Title: New guy...
Post by: Ruderunner on May 19, 2011, 08:03:00 PM
I am 37 years old and an ADDICT. Really hit home when I was checking out the site and saw the statement "marathoner + dipper= addict". I haven't done marathon yet but it's in the plans. I started at 19, currently about 1-1.5 tins a day. I can't sleep through nite w/o waking up then falling back to sleep and choking awake on spit.WTF! I am married to a wonderful wife who is currently carrying our 3rd child. I have 2 boys that I love dearly and coach everything they do.

I have been a runner for almost 10 yrs, last year taught myself how to swim bought a bike and signed up for a triathlon, loved it! Now want to do half iron distance race, problem 3 hours into any training I m thinking about killing myself w/dip. After half I want to do a full ironman, say it takes me 12 hours to do can u imagine spending 9 hours thinking about dip u are gonna have when u cross the finish line.

I have tried various prescriptions and NRT products and failed. After reading this site's approach to quitting I am ready for the battle for life! COLD TURKEY! grab your enemy by his nuts twist them off and feed them to him!

I WILL SURVIVE THIS BATTLE AND RECLAIM MY LIFE!
3 hrs into day 1.

Yes, I am that addict. I am happy to say this addict has not had a dip for 160 days now. How did I do it? Using this site, posting roll every single day and honoring my promise. You can do it as well. Roll on over to index.php?showtopic=4651 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=4651) and post roll today in the August 2011 group. Today can be day 1. Today can be the day you take your life back. PM me if I can be of personal assistance.

We are all addicts. Note the word "ARE". We always will be. All of us. Realize that one fact, get your mindset right, and your success will fall into place. There will never be a day when we are no longer an addict. There will never be a day when we can have "just one". This is not the easiest of battles, but it is worthwhile and totally winnable. 248 days ago I thought it was not. I stand corrected.

I'm not offering "personal assistance" like Scowick, but I will help you with your quit any way I can. Drop a PM if you need anything.

Just kidding Scowick. You know I respect your quit immensely.

Day 70, holy shit! Just found out #3 is gonna be a boy, this son will not even know what dip is. I am still amazed at the loyalty and obligation I feel to my fellow QUITHEADS and guys I post w/in QSX Endurance. This program works and I am grateful to the creators and everyone who keeps posting after HOF. Thank you for giving me a path to getting back control of my life.
