So I haven't quite figured this site out yet, but I was told to post a little something by another user. Today I decided to quit the addiction I've had for over 7 years. This is by far the hardest thing I have done in my life. Less than 12 hrs in and I'm having crazy withdrawals. My toes and fingers won't stop tingling. It's kind of ironic I started chewing to relieve anxiety and now I'm quiting to stop the anxiety. Bring on the panic attacks!

Don't worry man you got this!! We are all in this together! You will be in my group Pre-HOF July! Welcome fellow Phalanxer!!

This is a great first step! You will find all the support in the world here, but you have to want to quit. By you posting an intro it is clear that you want to quit. I quit with you today.
-
If we can do this, you can too. Go over to the July 16 group and post your promise not to use nicotine. It gets much easier and if you're a man of your word, you will get through this. Welcome to the rest of your life and we're glad to have you with us.

You got this bro. Embrace the suck of the first couple weeks, Get that poison flushed out of your body. Drink tons of water, so much water that pregnant women say "damn you piss an awful lot". Then drink some more. It helps with the headaches, the fog and the tingling. Read whatever you can on the site, be prepared and have a plan. Post roll daily and quit 24 hours at a time. We're all here with you!
-
Just find a way to get through today. Anyone can quit for a day.
Don't worry about tomorrow.

The best recipe for success is post roll first thing everyday, become involved with your group and other groups, lean on your brothers and sisters here in times of trouble, temptation. Then as your mind startes to clear from the nicotine fog and you can look back with true 20/20 vision help someone else who might be going through what you just did. A very simple but time tested pattern that works. See you on the forum rolls. Here is the link to your quit group- topic/11568995/ (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/11568995/)

Welcome. As a few others have said you've made the right decision and this is a great place for help and support, even a kick in the ass if you need it. The first days are fucking terrible, but your life is worth it. Post roll in the July thread, make your promise to yourself and your fellow quitters that you won't use nic today, wake up tomorrow, post roll as soon as you can and quit for the day again. Be a man of your word, don't have any nicotine around and get involved in this community and you'll have success.
I recommend just reading, go read HOF speaches, articles on the site, anything.
I quit with you today.

I Quit with you today. I'm one week in, day 7 today. Find a small goal. Mine is getting through the mornings. If i can make it through the mornings I am that much stronger about finishing the day. GeeHaw, you can do this! It's not going to be easy, but these guys are awesome (well, most of them anyway). Ha. You've made a great decision to stop the poison. Let us know how you are doing. Drink plenty of water and take it one day at a time, we all do. I'm 18 days quite today but am feeling better than I have in a very long time.
-
Hell yeah GeeHaw! I am also a new member to this awesome community! Glad to have you on board! I hope you will go and post roll in the July 2016 group. That is step one, step 2 is being a person of your word. Dont be a shit heel that posts roll and then caves. If you are serious about this, you will do it. We will help you do it. The July 2016 group is fan fucking tastic. We got you, but you gotta commit.

Howdy GeeHaw. The advice you've been given above is better than anything I could jot down here, so all I'll say is this:
Look at this thread. Just while you've been away at work during the day, you have 10 (now 11) quitters here to support you. That is a POWERFUL tool, and combined with your own will and daily roll posts, will help you stop using nicotine. Don't squander the support you are lucky to have found.

Geehaw, as your older brother, I'm SO damn proud of you! Now go to July, and post your Day, let me know if you have any questions! One thing that has helped me is coming to the conclusion that I am an addict, and that I can't ever have one dip again. I'm through with it. This community has helped me by giving me support, and challenging me. I let them down, by not staying quit last time. I will not let it happen again. And I'm here to say that's through posting every day, and deciding 1 day at a time I am quit, and posting in here and staying connected. It's a little weird at first, but once you figure it out, it's easy, and the invisible humans through the internets won't bite, they just want to help.
