Title: My Brother is a Persistent
Post by: dcsurfer on September 16, 2010, 08:25:00 PM
Hey KTC brothers and sisters - this is wakebrdn posting under an account I just set up for my brother. He is way to busy to check out the web page so instead of passing around his email address (which I think is crossing the line) I thought I could ask you guys to send him a PM or leave him a note on this thread. Might help him "find the time" :D

Thanks!

When it comes to helping a dude quit there is no line. What would you do to save his live if he was in danger? There would be no line and you would do whatever it takes right. Thats what you are doing here, saving his life.

So if he's too busy to face the quit and start reading, then I'm betting he won't post at all. Question: If he's got time to dip, which does take a lot of planning and if he's not dipping, then what's he doing with all that spare time?

Not feeling a strong quit here. Hope he man's up and joins in. Don't let it effect your quit.

I agree with RWM.
I think your intentions are good, you obviously care for your brother.
However... Don't tell us that he is too busy to check out the web page, that's BULLSHIT!!! Sounds like to me that your brother has no intention on giving up the poison.
I will send him a PM per your request because you are a "quit brother" of mine.
But it's not going to be kind.

Brian

Sounds to me like you need to give your brother a kick in the ass and give him the proper motivation to find time if he truly wants to quit. Sometimes you gotta give them some tough love.

That dedication to your Bro is quite commendable. But you know as well as all of us, the choice must be his, and he must do it for himself first. I will send him a PM and wait anxiously for his post. Just make sure that no matter what happens here, you protect your QUIT.

Hey Guys - I appreciate the posts and PM's very much.

I agree 100% that the quit has to be yours, cannot be linked to anyone else...with the exception of God. My quit is for God, Family and Self. But the effort, pain and discomfort are mine and the anger and frustration during the process are shared primarily with God and you guys. (my family thanks you)

That being said one of the guys stated it so well when he said.."I want the whole world to quit and it ticks me off when someone doesn't, it messes with my quota"

This site is as close to a silver bullet as exist in the world of quitting nic and there is no one in the world I would rather share it with then my brother. So thanks again for the help in giving him a taste of what this community is like. Not sure he will quit now...but the effort is always worth it, the results are out of our hands.
