Title: Intro
Post by: Bodhi619 on August 15, 2011, 02:23:00 AM
Hello everyone. I finally took the step to get on the path to quitting. Im on day 3 today and so far Im not feeling that bad..The worse thing is not having something to put in my mouth. Ive been using seeds, gum, coffee grinds and tea leaves haha so far they do help but I am finding this part to be the most difficult. I have been wanting to stop dipping for a long time but never actually followed through with it so I am happy for the small progress I have made so far.

Welcome Bodhi,

You are entering the mental stage of your quit which I found to be harder than the initial physical part. I know what you're feeling. Go to the Welcome Center in the upper left of the screen if you haven't yet and also start posting roll everyday. You'll find tons of support here. Just stay quit for today. Tomorrow you can post roll and do it again.

Stay strong!

Good on you Bodhi,

Day three is shitty, but day four my life got a lot better. You're in the home stretch as far as physical addiction goes. If you are struggling with not being able to put a dip in I can relate. I went to Walmart and bought some Smokey Mountain Chew. It was with the other cancer cans in the tobacco center so If you are feeling weak stay away and order it from the mail. It has really helped me. The site has a bunch of other brands you can choose from but that was the most convenient for me. You should be really proud of yourself making it three days, that is huge! Each day gets a little better. Utilize this site, It works. Use the chat, pictures of cancer, anything you can to stay quit. Keep at it and post roll everyday. When you post roll you are promising not to use nicotine of any sort for the day. Thats the secret to my quit. I'm just working it one day at a time. Anyway stay Quit and Post roll with me in November.

Bodhi,

Congrats on joining the quit. Glad your day 3 was better than mine. The oral fixation is a bit frustrating. But, knowing you'll be able to chew gum vs. the hideous alternative should provide some measure of comfort.

Keep it up and remember to post Roll Call.
