Hi everyone, my name is Matt and I've been reading the site for a few hours. I've been talking about quitting lately and fortunately came across this site.
I know it will be tough, but I know it'll be worth it.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi Matt, Welcome aboard, get yourself over to the August 2013 quit group and post your promise not to use today. Or get it done tomorrow if it is to late for that.
You can do this, the first couple of days are tough, drink lots of water, exercise, read the site.
Check your inbox, you have mail.
Congratulations on your decision to kick nicotine out of your life.

Not fortunate, it was destiny that you we shown to the promiseland.
And yes you are right, it will be tough, but there are those of us who have been exactly where you are and have made it through, and there are those who will be going through what you are at the same time as you are.
So read up on the site, join the neighborhood where you will not only make neighbors, but with the use of the tools you will learn, you will make friends to lean on and to be there for them as well.
I quit with you today as you make the best decision that you can. +1
PM me if you have any questions.

I really appreciate all the feedback I've received so far. It means a lot.
I'm 27 and I dipped for about 12 years. The last 2-3 years were roughly two tins a day. I'm not entirely sure I can explain why I wanted to quit. Numerous reasons. I was tired of always planning my life around dips. Whether that meant sneaking out of family events or rummaging through my golf bag for it before I could tee off. One of the bigger reasons for me is that I make a conscious effort to be a good person, and to continually try to become a better person. Dipping just doesn't go with that to me. I know it sounds weird and I'm not sure if anyone will understand that but me wanting to be better is my main motivator. Luckily for me I found this site and started reading.
I'm coming up on the end of my third day and I feel great. So far it really hasn't been too bad. The first night I tossed and turned for a good part of the night but other than that I haven't really noticed anything. The first day I would hear my brain saying "ok we're driving, time to put one in" but I haven't caught myself doing that too often. I've had a dull headache/been foggy for most of the time but it doesn't seem too bad, I think that has to do with all the water I've been drinking (another tip i got in the text I mention below).
I received an encouraging text on Monday morning from a member of this site. I was nervous on Monday as it was my first day and knew I had posted roll already and thought man this is going to be difficult and I really don't want to let anyone down that I've given my word to. After I got the text my mindset changed almost instantly. It was no longer I hope I don't let anyone down, it changed to no way in hell am I using today after this stranger just texted me encouragement.
I am genuinely excited to be in the process of relearning life without dip.
Thanks again for all the support,
Matt
This is an edit; I think the dull headache/foggy is mainly foggy. It isn't as much a headache as it feels like something just isn't right.
