Title: Quitting after 11 years
Post by: Stepp on August 10, 2015, 09:12:00 AM
I've been a chew addict since I was 16 and I would really like to be quit before I'm 30. At 27, I'm already experiencing negative effects from dip. I'm constantly getting a sore mouth and I find my hands and feet get cold easily. After just a day, my mouth and blood flow already feel better. What a terrible drug to be addicted to. There are no positive benefits to it.

Also, I keep getting these itchy spasms on my mouth. Let's just hope I quit soon enough. I don't want to lose my jaw and die.

Great decision to quit. I was in a similar boat myself when I found this site. There's no time like now to kick this addiction. I see you found roll so that's good. I'm on day 2 myself and found popping 2 pieces of Stride gum and parking it in the lip help to pass any extreme cravings. I found reading through all the success stories and words of wisdom quite encouraging as well. We got this man, none of us are alone fighting this battle.

You have spent 11 years of your short life with a dip in your mouth. That's much too long! You are correct, there is no long term benefit to nicotine use, and the longer you use the worse your symptoms will become. Stay quit at 27, don't wait until 30.
