Title: My Intro.
Post by: bossman on December 31, 2015, 10:55:00 AM
The time has come for me to finally kick this habit. I have tried many of times in the past, oh boy do I have stories, but I have never used a "support group" before nor have I tried cold turkey. I have been reading this site a lot over the past few months and the stories are great to read. The one time I really thought I was "done" was one late night I had a dip in and it was the day Stuart Scott from ESPN died. They replayed his ESPY speech when he had cancer and was in tough shape. He called his girls on stage and gave them a kiss, man did that hit me..I actually got up from the couch in tears grabbed my can and flushed it down the toilet. Said I was done...Well 2 weeks later I bought another can...I was so ashamed of myself I can't even explain it...I signed up a few days ago to this site and within minutes I was PM'd by a moderator and he offered assistance! Now that's a community I want to be part of...My quit day is tomorrow and I will be up in the morning posting roll before hitting the field to hunt this great state of ND....I am ready and with the help of all you great folks I pray this is the time!

Why not today? I am not trying to talk you into anything but planning to quit tomorrow never really works out well. Are you going to romance your addiction today...make sweet sweet love to your open tin?

The problem is that that tin does in fact not love you back, that tin contains an addictive little weed that causes addiction, cancer, tooth loss, gum disease, stomach ulcers, chemical dependency, and a host of other issues. You could choose to quit right now and be a day ahead of all of the people making a new year's resolution.

one day, 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, 86,400 seconds ahead of everyone else plus maybe one whole tin.

My advice quit right now, dump all remaining cans in the toilet and piss on them, then flush and repeat tomorrow when you find those rogue independent cans.

Noticed you tried posting in April.... Go back ..do it again.
Put your number 1'up today.
You join the group the.moment you flush it and quit!
Only way you can screw it up is not being there... They will fix any mistakes.
I quit with you today!

No no no, quit today, no free ride and "I'm gonna go out tonight dipping" do it today, dump the shit, and be on Day 2 for 2016. Brother, I had 20-30 "tomorrow I quit" thoughts. But I have only one quit. Prove me wrong, because you posting roll, then having it deleted is bogus man.

bossman,
Listen to Thumble...you need to quit RIGHT NOW. Saving your life is not something you work your way up to by waiting a day or two. I don't think you are committed to anything that resembles a real quit. But prove me wrong.

ROLL.. call there you go..
That's funny....I don't see your name anywhere in the April '16 group with the rest of the quitters. Do you need help in figuring out how to post roll?

Okay, see you just posted. Nice work on Day 1. You are among quitters who want nothing more than mutual success against deadly nicotine. I quit with you today.

Ah, day one. You will never forget it, and you SHOULDN'T. I've got my promise down for today too, and that is all we have to deal with. Just today. Have you gone to chat? Super helpful. Ask questions. Read. Drink water after water and get out and do something. Quitting is simple. Not easy, but simple.
1 Make a promise to not use nicotine in any form for today
2 keep your promise for today
3 don't put that shit in your mouth

Punch, kick, run and scream. Whatever you need to do.

Stay vigilant Bossman. When I hit the 30's I felt great, but it is easy to be complacent. You have a great quit going, keep it up!
