Title: Round Three!
Post by: jaradm on January 01, 2014, 10:39:00 AM
First off Happy New Year to everyone!

Now a little bit about myself. I am 34 years old and from south Louisiana. Been married for 12 years and have one child (2 year old).

I have been chewing tobacco for about 15 years now. I am also a past member of quit smokeless.org. I have been through 2 previous quits that lasted a year and the other 6 months.

I am here to start this journey once again and this time it will be a successful one. I miss the freedom of being dip free!

My daughter means the world to me and the last thing I want to do is get cancer and have her sit by my bedside and watch me die. I am also quitting to prove to myself that I can follow through.

With the support of the great people on this site I have faith that I will follow through this time.

Looking forward to getting this quit started!!

Hey Jarad, congrats on finding KTC. This is not a place for stoppers. Or pausers. This is a place for quitters. Like you, we want to live long healthy lives and live to see our children get married and and to get to meet our grandchildren. Keeping this addiction real is just one of the powerful tools here to help us quit. So. Next step is to find your quit group which is April 2014. And post your day 1 . Look up top and look for "Inbox". I'm sending you a pm with my number. If your serious about being quit, I'll quit with you. Text me and let's get started.

Jarad, welcome from one newbie to another. Glad you got your quit on, and glad you're here. Read, read, read, and post, post, post. Stay strong and shout out when you need a hand.

You ever been on this site before, Jared?

You are familiar with the program so you have a leg up. Post roll, and takes this seriously.

One of the things we ask of returning members (but can be asked to anybody) is to answer the 3 questions about your failure:

What happened?
Why did it happen?
What are you doing differently this time?

You've been through the program twice and failed twice. Answer these questions truthfully, and you never will have to again. The key to your quit is found in the 3 questions.

Got cocky and thought I had it beat. Quit checking in on roll call. Same story as the rest of the returners who are here to try it again.

I will not make the same mistake again!

Why aren't you back on quitsmokeless for another round? Obviously they cater to serial cavers; we don't.

Nice day 2 roll post!

We don't come in here to "try" again. We DO. We post roll and quit today.

Trying to quit is for losers...

What part of South Louisiana are you from? I am in Slidell, but have lived in Houma and Lafayette as well. Welcome aboard.

Hey Jarad, day 3 that is impressive. You are almost through the physical withdrawals. I remember the headaches, the pressure I would feel on my forehead like somebody was pushing down between my eyes with there Palm. Yuck!! All I can say is " embrace the suck"!! Remember what you are going through and know that you don't ever want to go through it again. Take your quit one day at a time (ODAAT). Stay involved with the site and own your quit. This is your life and you control it. Not that nicotine shit. I'll quit with you bud

My worst day without the poison is better than my best day with it. You got this man. Fill that head with quit knowledge. Learn everything you can on nicotine/addiction. Knowledge is power. I make you a promise. It's worth it my friend.

For the first time in years your brain is healing. It's also getting the oxygen you've been depriving it of. It's going to get real for a while, but in time you will kick yourself right in the a-- for ever putting the poison in your pie hole. Glad to be quit with you.

Get a lot of water in you today and take a couple motrin/aspirin. That will help. Need to stay hydrated. As one of my brothers always says.... if you walk past a restroom and don't need to make a pit stop -- you are not drinking enough.

Try to stay active today. Don't sit around thinking about your headache. Push yourself to move thru it!

This sounds a lot like my day 3. You can get through this brother! Your doing great!

You are pushing the nicotine out of your system. 3-4 days to clean it out and you are on the tail end of that.

Fight today! I am quit with you all day long!

Really disappointed with myself today! I started my quit while at work 6 days ago.

Since I flew in from offshore yesterday I have been in a really bad mood at home. My wife is already like WTF?? I quit for myself so there is no resentment towards her. I am just aggrivated for what ever reason.

I hope tomorrow gets better!!

Never be disappointed in having another +1 day quit. You are going through the healing process and will need time for your body and mind to readjust in the absence of the poison

Well done for not resenting the wife, but she does know that this is you quitting right? and you are not hiding this from her as you will need her support.

just keep reading on the site here, jump into the live chat if you can,

you CAN do this.
