Title: old dog and new quitter
Post by: papabear on November 18, 2012, 08:33:00 PM
I've chewed for 36 yrs. From the time my feet hit the floor to the time I went to bed. I was what I call a chain chewer. Take the dip out and right away put a new one in. My mouth started getting sore, the gums around my front teeth ( 2 of them ) is gone. Had it checked out nothing dangerous as far as cancer but enough of a wake up call. So I quit on nov. 14th 2012.
I'm sure my story is similar to many but I want to thank people in advance for their support. We are told from an early age that we're not supposed to quit something we start, well this is one time I'm quitting with no regrets.
I will say so far the road has been tough but I'm doing .
Thanks,
PapaBear.

Same story here dipped for around 40 yrs. very seldom did I give my mouth a rest even at night, most nights I fell asleep with the shit. Can't county previous attempts to quit. Quitting with desire, commitment and brotherhood I've been quit 232 days and love the freedom! Pm me if you need anything. You do need to figure roll out, it's not that bad. It you mess up a time or two someone will be watching and fix it.

When I first read this, I thought "hmm, wt would like this guy". Then you post in here....maybe you 2 and syndrome can sit in your rockin chairs and yell at the young hoodlums.

But seriously, welcome papabear! You can do this, one day at a time.

Older guy here with ya papa. Started when I was around 12 and quit 2 years ago at 42. Use this site as it was intended and you will be successful. Post every day. If you can't post, text your promise to someone in your group. Keep your word and take it one day at a time.
