Title: New Day
Post by: FinnBarr on January 29, 2012, 06:26:00 PM
Tomorrow is Day 1.

Just tore off my last nicotine patch and I'm ready to jump in. I've been dipping for almost 4 years, exclusively Grizzly Wintergreen long cut and Wintergreen pouches. One and a half cans a day.

The patch has helped in the past but in the end I always end up going back. Just found this site the other day and hope it can give me a kick in the ass!

Okay Rosanne Barr, listen up...

If you are planning a quit day party for tomorrow, let me tell you exactly what that gets you today...absolutely fucking nothing. Except the last few chances of stuffing your pie hole full of cancer candy. Great. Just fucking great. Any idea how many dips it takes to get cancer? One. And wouldn't it just be the kick to the crotch if one of these last "bonus" lippers was the one to put you over the edge? That would certainly suck.

Why wait another day? Why? Why wait another moment? When freedom is staring you in the face, you run for it. You give everything you've got to get it. And I'm going cross my fingers that you aren't expecting to be sticking a nic patch on your tiny little ball sack while "trying" to quit. We don't do that here. We man up and fight. Cold fucking turkey. Make a clean break from being a slave.

When you have a chance, go read this thread: planning on quitting sunday (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=5865)

He planned on quitting today. Planned on it. But "it" never happened.

Quitting tomorrow is drug addict talk. I should know, I am an addict. Question? Is the nic bitch whispering in your cranium right now? Want to piss her off? Quit now. She is not expecting it. Post day 1 now...and :)

If you've torn off the patch and if you've tossed your dip, and if you are nic free, you should post your Day 1 today, right now. Don't wait until tomorrow IF you are nic free.

Looks like you have already quit to me. If you are not dipping and just using the patch and you took it off post Day 1 and don't use either again.

Thanks everyone- the reason I didn't post Day 1 yesterday is because I still had nicotine coursing through my veins- wanted to start off on the right foot.

Woke up today nicotine free and posted Roll Call. I've already chewed through about half a case of Orbitz chewing gum, so far no major craves on Day 1....

Hey, Finn, it takes three complete days for your body to remove all your systemic nicotine. After that it's a head game.

You've made the right decision. Now, it's time to keep your promise.
