Hello all,
Quit dip about 4 days ago. I have no idea what came over me and I guess I just gave up and didnt understand the concept of chewing anymore.
I've tried quitting in the past and just wasn't ready to do so, started when I was roughly 16 years old while playing baseball. Im now 25 and been away from baseball
for about 5 years now. Im trying to go into Law Enforcement the problem is the agencies around my area are all going Tobacco FREE. So I wasnt going to let a habit stand in between me and my life Goals.
I started chewing Smokey Mountain Herbal Snuff. I just need to know am I really quit even if I use the fake snuff. So far im doing great no withdraws or headaches no cravings. every now and then I get a bad throw up vomit taste in my throat. Smokey Mountain snuff I only use when I desperately need it. Like if I was nervous watching a sports game or playing video games.

OLLY - if you're not using nicotine at all (tobacco, gum, patches, vape) then you're quit. Smokey Mountain is something like corn silk, shredded kudzu and flavoring, if I recall correctly. It's got the nicotine content of a lip full of spinach leaves.
Here's the good news - after four days, the nicotine is out of your system. Wonderful, right?
Here's the bad news - that doesn't mean you're out of the woods. Take a look at these links to get some idea of what you're in for:

Quitting nicotine is hard. There's a reason that we do it one day at a time here. You've been using a poison that has altered your body and brain chemistry over the course of years. You're addicted to it. You need to recognize that, admit it, and then tackle quitting head on with the support of other people who have been where you are and know what you're going through.
I would really, really suggest getting over to the September quit group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/30249720). Roll is our way of promising each other that we will not have nicotine for the day. We post roll every day here. Our system is pretty simple. Wake up, post roll, and keep your word for the day. Then, the next day, do it all over again. Here's a video to help you understand how to post roll:
Posting Roll on KTC Kill the Can (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmDgTPJ6HyM)
Post roll, dive in, get connected and you won't have to go it alone.

Nicotine is no habit it's an addiction. How many times have you tried quitting alone? Why not sign up and get help from people that know what you're going through. It's simple and free and could possibly save your life, I know it's added numerous years to mine. All of that for 2 minutes (1 if you type really well ) out of your day! It's so much easier with help, let us help you

Yes sir its a huge addiction and scary one. I have tried twice before this one a couple years ago but this time is by far the most progress I have made simply just by joining a group and making it pass 3 days. Before I dont think I was ready and was doing it for wrong reasons. This time there was like a lightbulb just blinked on out of no where and i just knew. I did come here for support and i have been welcomed with open arms and thank you everyone very much.

Burn your boats. Don't give yourself any path to return to nicotine. Post first thing in the morning - WUPP - Wake Up Piss Post or Wake Up Poop Post if you load up on Metamucil each night. Have a plan if you're tempted. Have a back up plan to the plan. Promise yourself you'll follow through with your plan. If you use the tools of KTC and embrace a proven method of quit you WILL succeed!
