I dip everyday. It amounts to about 3 or 4 dips a day.
But if I'm out of town, I don't bring dip with me. I just go without. I don't typically have cravings.
My huge problem is that my routine with dip is that whenever I play guitar, I need to have a dip in. I don't know how it happened, but guitar and dip have become painfully intertwined. Playing guitar is something I do in most of my free time, but if I'm not dipping while playing, I struggle to stay focused. This is the only real reason I don't quit. Because quitting dipping means my guitar practice will suffer. It doesn't bleed into any other areas of my life. It's the ONLY time that I dip.
So much of the quitting advice stems around changing your routine. Removing triggers. My trigger is playing practicing guitar, which I do every day, multiple times a day.
I've been successful with smokey mountain herbal before... but for only about a month. It just wasn't quite the same. I may give it a try again.
This is just going to have to turn into mind over matter for me. I'm just gonna have to have some discipline. But lemme tell you, it's gonna be hard.
I love the feeling.
I love the taste.
It makes guitar practice more fun.

You are addicted to a poisonous weed that aims to destroy your life. It aims to take your life. It makes you think you can do anything, but ultimately it will take everything.
What is it going to get you to be Quit now? Have you tossed your last can? Best to get into the June 2017 Pre-HOF Group (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/30163365/) and post roll, which is your promise that you will not use nicotine for the day. We post in the morning, and it is a promise, not a status update.
BTW, I play guitar, too. It never made me any better, or feel any better. In fact, now that I am Quit, I am the best player I've ever been, can afford all the equipment I want, and play live at least 2-3 times a month.
So...you say you want this. How bad do you want it?

Been playing for 40 years now. I've been a studio session player... church music director... I have a project studio at home... I have 4 full time students... I'm in 3 bands.
I play ALL the time. For work AND fun.
I know exactly what you're feeling because, let me tell ya, that fear rode me hard pretty heavy when I first quit.
Today I'm quit 1,419 days and I can tell you with total authority... that fear is complete bullshit.
Complete. Bullshit.
It's actually hindering your playing but you're too enslaved by your addiction to even see it or admit it. You have no freedom when you play because you're tethered to the can.
Time to be free, bro. Throw that shit away and give yourself the chance to play and enjoy the guitar... and life... in a way you can't understand yet.

I also play guitar. For me playing guitar makes me feel good. A release of all the BS of the day. I know a lot of musicians who claim they can't concentrate without smoking, dipping or using various other things. It will get easier.

I see several problems with your attempted quit and unless you rectify them ,you will never make it
Don't glorify the dip and put it on a pedestal.
Don't refuse to admit that you are an addict.....you come on here and act like you don't "need" it and don't "have to have it" yet you haven't already quit on your own...why not??

If you're really serious and ready to quit then I will help you all I can but you've got a lot to change with yourself first before I ever see you being successful....sorry but that's just the way I see it

Whenever I think about caving or am craving dip I just go google pictures of mouth cancer....if that doesn't do it for you then I can't help you

You see what we are all reading in your words is the "bromance" you still have finger banging the can. Until the rage wells up inside you, the hate for what that weed has taken, you
will struggle in your quit. You must have pure hatred for that disgusting habit. Think of what it is stealing from you, all the time and energy to go get a fix and "HAVE TO HAVE IT TO PLAY".
