Hi all, I am new to this site, my name is Brian I am currently finishing my last semester of College as a chemical engineer and as I am looking for full time employement come January I am ready to quit using all forms of nicotine. In the past I have tried to use e pens, wean off, and other methods but have been unsuccessful. I saw this site and figured I would give it a try I just bought a new tin and when I was packing a lip I just thought about how useless tobacco is and how much it has controlled my life for the past 5 plus years. I threw it out down the sink and I am going to need your help to quit but am ready for the challenge ahead.

Posting roll is the backbone of the site. It is our promise to not use nicotine in any form for the entire day. Post roll every single day. Post roll as early in the day as you can. That way, if you honor your word, there is no wiggle room for you to cave.

Welcome Brian! I am a mechanical engineer myself; graduated NDSU in Spring of 2013. I dipped for 5 years as well and I bought into this site 100% right off the bat. Here I am 162 days later and fighting a battle I never thought I would make any headway against. I'm glad you found KTC engineer! Your alias is pulling all of us nerd engineers out of the KTC woodwork. I hope when you say "give it a try" you mean that you will put your full heart into this quit, because it will be tough. Chemical engineer huh? That means you had to pass organic chemistry - a true ballbuster of a course. Imagine if you just gave orgo a try, but didn't read, didn't study, didn't get help from anyone else. Unless you're a genius, then failure would be inevitable.
You have to face this quit like that - especially in the beginning. Read as much as you can on the site, the HOF speeches, some older groups, pick a few guys intros. You will learn how to stay quit one day at a time and how to face this addiction.
The good news is, it gets so much better! But just like no one is going to hand you a Chemical engineering degree without years of work, you'll have to dedicate yourself to getting through these first tough weeks one day at a time. Quit with you! CJ
