Title: Quit try 2 - day 1
Post by: af4038 on January 10, 2012, 10:29:00 PM
I had managed to quit for just around 3 and 1/2 months starting last September. During the middle of December, it became a very high stress time for me again (finals). This triggered a relapse into dipping, so I decided to try something different this time, and hopefully quit for good.

What are you willing to do to stay quit?

The answer will make all the difference in the world.

Burn your boat. Then you have no choice.

Welcome to the first day of your freedom.

I quit in August and I had finals just like you did. I know how stressful it can be. But you have to shut the door on nicotine. You have to decide that you will never use nicotine again for any reason. I remember the first test I took after I quit or the many chapters I had to read for school. These were all things I would have never tried doing without a dip in before. This time was different though. I had shut the door on nicotine, I posted roll on this site everyday, I kept my word to stay quit, and I made it through finals. If I can do it, I KNOW you can do it.

Read this about posting roll : index.php?showtopic=50 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50) .
Keep in mind though, If you post roll, you are giving us all your word that you will not use nicotine for that whole day. We do not try to quit around here, we do it. This is a place for people want the accountability that making a daily promise to your group provides. Good job on posting your day 1. I will look for your name tomorrow Let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or just need to vent your frustrations. Stay quit man.

af, just throw the word "hope" out the window and be quit for TODAY. Saying hope is a sign of weakness, don't be weak, be quit. Good luck, we are all here to support you for whatever you need, but its up to you to be committed.
