Title: New here
Post by: CEN2 on November 04, 2019, 03:24:55 PM
I’m newly registered but I have been poking around in here for several weeks. I am 65 days down. This place has been very helpful.
I wish I had found it before I decided to quit. That might have made the first few weeks a little better. I’ve basically had or am In The process of having every withdrawal symptom listed. Knowing I’m not going crazy has helped tremendously !!
The anxiety is the worst !!!

Hey @CEN2 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15988),

Your day count, I think, places you in the December Quit group, which is found here.

Sounds like you understand the KTC system well, just remember to Wake Up Piss and Post daily, and to drink plenty of water, replace the crave with exercise or something else healthy, and to read as much as possible on the boards, reach out to other quitters, and to bring any rage in here, we get it... @Redwood (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=14631) is a fellow quitter and may be able to help you with where to post.

That is awesome that you have made 65 plus days quit on your own.  Did you go cold turkey?  I have never made it that far on my own.
If you want to take advantage of the brotherhood and accountability on KTC, follow the link that Juda left for you to the December group.  I am part of that group.  We post our promise to remain nicotine free first thing every day.  Then we wake up the next day and do it again.  Taking it one day at a time (ODAAT) makes this more manageable.  PM me and share digits if you want accountability and or need help with posting your promise.  Hope to see you over in the 2019 December quit group.

Thanks not sure I understand how to post on that thread. Yeah I went cold turkey. Wouldn’t advise that!! Lol
I’ve already made the promise that I don’t want to dip but I want ever quit again either.
I quit 10 yrs ago for over a year I do not remember it being anything like what I have been going through

Hey CEN2 - glad to have you as an official member of KTC! The accountability and support here is unparalleled.

Cold turkey is the only acceptable means of quitting here at KTC. Nicotine replacement methods (gum, patches, lozenges) are not allowed or tolerated here. We post roll here every day promising no nicotine in ANY form that day. We then focus on honoring that word 24 hours at a time. The concept of "forever" lacks a tangible quality that we can grasp on to. But anyone can quit for one day. TODAY. We then repeat each morning.

Follow the link that Juda posted for you. Go to the last page and find the most recent post (either on the top or bottom of the page depending on your settings). Hit the "quote" button on the top right corner of the most recent roll post. Add your name and day count in the appropriate section and then hit post! Do that each morning.

Also, to take advantage of the accountability this site provides, share your digits with members of your group (and vets too!) using the PM tool (My Messages) located in the top toolbar. If you find yourself craving, use those digits to seek support during those moments.

Hey CEN2, welcome aboard!  Don't worry about joining KTC a little late in your quit - there are a number of us that went it alone before finding this spot (I made it on day 29, I think).   There are folks that have joined post Hall of Fame (or, 100 days).  At day 65, I was still really shaky on my quit legs.  There are many peaks and valleys to go.  So glad you found us - because you don't have to go through this journey alone anymore.  This place works.
