Title: Dillon1982 Introduction
Post by: dillon1982 on February 05, 2020, 10:44:35 AM
At day 1 here without chew. 37 yo and been chewing since i was 22. Useage gradually increased over the years from 1 can per week to about 2-3. Have made quit attempts before. Longest was 3 months. Reasons to quit are the same as everyone elses. Concern for my own health and how that impacts those important to me in my life. The primary symptoms I experience are cravings and the association of chewing with certain activities. Suppose the withdrawals could be much worse so for that i can be thankful. I also know those symptoms will pass with time. Anyways, I know I need to tackle this addiction. Feel like a support community could be helpful. Good luck to everyone beginning the journey and thanks to those who have had success that provide support. Hopeful that this will be the last time i have to start this journey.

Hi Dillon,

Congrats on making the decision to quit.  Make sure you are quitting for yourself first and foremost.

Head on over to the May 2020 Quit Group (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16257.990) and learn how to post roll.

The process is simple:

1. Wake Up
2. Piss
3. Post your promise to be nicotine free for 24 hours
4. Keep your word
5. Repeat Daily

We quit for one day at a time.  We don't worry about tomorrow or next week or next year, only today.  Today s what we can control.

Quit on Brother.

Chris

Welcome @dillon1982 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15876) ! I moved your post to the Introductions section here.

Chris speaks the truth. Head over to the May 2020 group and post your promise to everyone not to use nicotine in any form today. Tomorrow doesn't matter right now. Focus on keeping your promise TODAY.

Hey @dillon1982 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=15876) ....welcome to freedom. It’s yours to have if you want it. I’d encourage you to get to know the other members of your group. Swap numbers with them, me, other folks that post in May. Build you a rock solid network of accountability. We hold you to your word and will not accept anything less. PM me if you need anything else or want my number. Glad to have you here.
