Title: On my journey
Post by: Paintr69 on February 27, 2020, 01:34:06 AM
Hello, my name is Keith Thrasher,  and I am on my journey of quitting chew.  I have been chewing for 26 years, and currently work at a local hospital that offers a tabacco sesation program, that's how i found this site.  I started with kodiak, and when Grizzly came out, been using it ever since, long cut wintergreen.  Looking for a close alternative to begin reducing the amout I use, so if anyone has any suggestions,  it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

@Paintr69 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=16986) Reduce???? Hell, it is time to quit. Throw out all that cancer causing stuff and go post roll in the June2020 group. Here is the link https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=post;quote=7795161;topic=16357.0 . We wake up, piss, post our promise to stay nicotine free for the day and then keep our promise. Repeat the process the following day. Don't let a dead plant in a can control you anymore. You can do it and we are here to help. Reach out if I can help. I use Smokey Mountain fake dip as a substitute at times.

If your looking for a fake chew I would recommend Smokey Mountain Wintergreen, or Grinds Wintergreen pouches.  "Reducing your usage"  is just prolonging what needs to be done and that's quitting cold turkey.  It just gives your addict brain more time to make excuses to not quit.  How many times have you thought about quitting, and here you are still using.  I suggest you throw all the poison in the toilet and flush that shit.  You need to learn to hate chew and your dependency on it if you want to be successful.

Then flush that shit down the toilet and go post day 1 in June.  Time to stop talking and start doing.

Hey @Paintr69 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=16986)

Welcome my friend.  You seeking this place out and posting an intro tells me that you fear your ADDICTION.  You want to be done.  However, the quit is also scary.  I used for about the same time and I know I used every excuse in the book to put quitting off.  "I can't go cold turkey, it would be bad for my health.  I'll stop after I finish this project.  I'll stop after my next bday, new years, when my first kid is born, ok...second, ok...third, fourth?"  I broke every one of those mini promises to quit.

I'm guessing you've had the exact same experiences? And here you are (like I was 227 days ago) still sucking that nic juice out of that wedge in your lip.  It's time man.  THERE WILL NEVER BE A GOOD TIME TO QUIT.  This program works.  It will not be easy but it is pretty damn simple.  Post roll in the June '20 Quit group and get the ball rolling.  We will be here for you for all of the support you need.  PM me if I can help.
