Hello everyone,
I just started this today and am looking forward to a better life from not chewing. I am 46 and have chewed since I was 20. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have tried several times before and failed, BUT not this time! Thanks for the support and help.

Welcome to KTC and October 2020, Jondwren!! A better life without chew awaits ... but at KTC we take things just One Day At A Time (ODAAT). Sometimes thinking about this quitting business too far out can make your quit feel overwhelming - and all we can control is what we do today. Anyone can get through one day.
You took the first step by posting in October 2020. In time, get to know your brothers and the vets here. Exchange phone numbers so someone is only just a text away to talk you off that proverbial ledge if ever necessary. Read all you can on this addiction. Stay hydrated. Stay distracted. Fill up on seeds or jerky or fake. Ride those craves (they only last about 3 to 5 minutes). Tobacco is off the table. No longer an option. You can do this.

Welcome aboard @jondwren (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18031) As FLLipOut said the first thing you do daily is post your promise. That is your promise to yourself and your group that you have quit for today. Get ready to ride a crazy train for a bit. Also you will be told to EMBRACE THE SUCK and that my friend was a rite of passage for me. There are so many people here that are just a pm or text away once you have their digits. But remember you are in a train full of ADDICTS which you are also and will be for life. Be prepared for your family to get big real fast. Mine did and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Stat safe, stay strong and God bless you making this change.
