On day 5 , it has been very difficult concentrating and trying to work . I used maybe a can every 3-4 days , however , I have been using for over 30 years . Almost all waking moments with a dip in.
I hope I can do this and that it is worth it.

By the way, 5 days on your own is incredible. It shows that with a little bit of help and accountability here, there is nothing you can't do. We make our promise not to use early every morning and work throughout the day to keep our word no matter what. Wake up and do it again tomorrow. Anyone can quit for 24 hours, just start string a couple of those together like you already have and the next thing you know, you are quit.
I'm proud to quit with you today sir.
You made the first step by coming here. Change that mind frame though, we don't hope to quit. We just quit. Dont put it in your mouth today. Figure out tomorrow tomorrow. Join up with the March 2021 quit group. All the quitters in that group will hit 100 days nicotine free in March 2021, as will you if you can make the decision to simply quit. It is a choice every day, one day at a time. Read as much as you can throughout the website to educate yourself about the addiction you want to quit. Everyone here has made that decision and we can help you on a daily basis when things get tough.

Welcome @MikaZ (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18915). Frank's post has some solid advice/info to get you started.
One thing I want to add is that we don't "hope" here. You can shit in one hand and hope in the other and see which fills up first. I used almost those same words as you when I joined this site over 4.5 years ago and I was swiftly corrected as well. We don't hope here at KTC. We make a daily promise to not use nicotine in ANY form today and focus on keeping that word 24 hours at a time. That is why it's critically important for you to start posting your daily promise each day when you wake up here: March 2021 (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16832.new#lastPost)
Get involved, buy into the system and take your life back one day at a time.

Hey @MikaZ (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=18915) ,
I chewed for over 31 years but I was a 3 can per day addict. Today I am 1,062 days nicotine free. If I can do this, so can you. Proud to quit with you today.

... I hope I can do this and that it is worth it.
Dip defeats no one. In quitting, one only defeats themselves. Every failed stoppage is choosing weakness and lies over strength and truth. You defeated yourself right from the get-go. You don't need hope, but you do need some faith and an iron will. After a while, everything worthwhile about quitting slowly (and then all at once) falls into place.
Stick around; buy into the concepts of brotherhood and accountability; post roll every day; engage in your quit and others. You didn't do that and that's why those who do are here quitting while you're out there tapping a can and killing yourself one pinch at a time.

... I have been using for over 30 years...
One post and zero check in for 4 days.
Welp... looks like that year count will be a bit bigger. Sad.
If you’re reading this and waffling to pull the trigger... don’t wait. Now is the perfect time to quit.
Don’t be a slave for one more second.
Be bigger than the weed in the tin. Stop letting it run the show.
