Title: DAY 4!
Post by: rloafman on February 06, 2021, 06:57:43 AM
I can't count the times I have attempted to quit over the past 35+ years.  I am committed to quit and am 100% focused.  My main concern is one, two or three months down the road, how do I keep that commitment?
Looking forward to staying quit and getting the support.

@rloafman (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=19330)  Welcome to KTC my friend and we are here to help you quit and stay quit. First is to go over and post up today and everyday your promise that you will use no nicotine today, https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16907.0 . We quit here one day at a time, cold turkey style (no nic replacement allowed) and wupp is how we do it. Wake Up Piss and Post, get it in early and reach out to your fellow quitters thru pms and share digits. Having a group text with your month is very important and I can attest to that. You will be in the May quit group and the link above will take you there. Just follow the directions and don't worry if you screw up somebody will point you in the right direction. Put your name, day count and your promise and you will be good to go. Congrats on quitting and it will be a rough ride but we will help any way we can.

@rloafman (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=19330) Welcome brother/sister (?). Frank gave you great advice above.  Promise each morning not to use.  Keep that promise.  Repeat.  Not easy but pretty simple.  We are all here to make sure you keep your word and support you in any way.  So let's do it my friend.  Take the leap.  Make your promise and take your first step on the path to freedom.

Proud to be quit with you my friend

Welcome to KTC, @rloafman (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?action=profile;u=19330). If you stick with the program here, there will be no more "attempts to quit." You will simply be QUIT. You should not concern yourself with two or three months down the road. One of the first acronyms you learn here is ODAAT: One Day At A Time. That's all we ask your promise to be good for. One day. 24 hours. Keep your word that you won't use for 24 hours. Come back the next day and make that promise again. Before you know it, it will be 2 or 3 months down the road, and you won't even have realized it because you didn't worry about the future. You handled what you could handle in a single day.

Our formulas are simple, and if you will remember them and apply them, you'll be okay.
1. Brotherhood + Accountability = Success
2. 1 Problem + Nicotine = 2 Problems

We won't fail you. Don't fail yourself. Get to the May 2021 group TheFranks5 pointed you to, and post your name, day count, and promise. Get your freedom back from the nicodemon.

They all quit around the same time as you and will be experiencing the same type of withdrawals and challenges

Welcome to freedom rloafman. Tons of good advice here, listen to it and do it. Make sure to get at LEAST one person's phone number. I know it might feel weird sharing that with a stranger from the internet, but when the big craves hit you gotta hop on the bat phone and get the support of a friend.

I've been walked through so much fog, rage, and cravings by the good folks here. So I will PM you mine first, but if nothing else make sure you get at least one other person you can reach out to.
