Title: New member - Day 9
Post by: Wisconsin Sawyer on February 09, 2021, 11:47:51 AM
Why'd I Start? My Grandpa chewed Mail Pouch, and I adored my grandpa. It's that simple. Been 40 years. A tin a day, hurts to even write that.  February 1 I was researching Tobacco alternatives and came across this site and on this site I came across a lengthy post about just doing it Cold turkey.  So I did. Still have my last tin with one pinch left in it sitting right here on my desk, and I'm going to leave it there. It doesn't make sense but it makes my conviction stronger seeing it there.  Biggest thing I did was commit to my wife and kids. They think I can do anything I set my mind to, and I will not disappoint them.

Welcome to KTC sir.

You got to flush that last pinch right now. And then take the tin and go run it over with your truck and then toss it in the trash. You are leaving yourself an out - your addict brain doesn't want you to eliminate that last pinch because she still wants you to shove it in your pie hole. ELIMINATE ALL AREAS THAT CAN LEAD TO FAILURE. Burn your boats. You will get more satisfaction watching it swirl down the toilet than having it sit there and taunt you. I get that you want to keep it to prove to yourself you are stronger. But there will be moments of crippling weakness that having that one dip in front of you will end in disaster.

You found us. Now commit to our system because the thousands of others here are proof that it works.

Now get on over to the May 2021 Pre-HOF group (https://ktcforum.org/index.php?topic=16907.675) and post your promise to be nicotine for the next 24 hours.  That's how we roll here, One Day at a Time (ODAAT).  The process is simple but hard:

1. Wake Up
2. Piss
3. Post your promise to be nic free for the next 24 hours
4. Keep your word
5. Repeat Daily

Simple but hard.

Reach out to other quitters and exchange phone numbers through the private message feature (never in open forum).  Those phone numbers are how we keep each other accountable, they are also a life-line to instant support when you need it and they are the start of your brotherhood network.  My number is always available for the asking, just shoot me a PM.

Glad to quit with you brother.

Chris
