Hello fellow addicts and quitters. This is Day 1 of my quit. I am a biologist living in West Texas. I had been quit for 7 years. Over a year ago I put a dip in. Just one. Just for old times sake. Just because the outside environment and work called for a simple single dip, and that would be it. Now, daily for over a year. All. Over. Again.
Before the 7 yrs of my successful quit, I had been dipping for well over a decade. High School, peers, and baseball. That kid grew into a man, and was still dipping. Full-blown addict.
My first quit was terribly hard. Physically and mentally; as I had basically grown up, had developed into an adult with nicotine and dipping hardwired into my brain and body.
I now need to do it all over again. I now will do it all over again. A bit pissed at myself for having to start over. I am also understanding.
I will find out if this quit differs from my first quit.
Anyways, another and now defunct (I believe) website and forum helped me way back then. It is my hope that the same type forum and community will be just as helpful.
I choose not to be a slave.
Thank you for having me, brothers and sisters.
Let us all live free.
So, here. I. go....

Welcome brother. The recipe is below. Keep it simple. You didn't quit last time. You stopped for 7 years. That isn't quit as far as we are concerned. But here at KTC there is a simple recipe for quit.
ODAAT NAFAR.
POST ROLL DAILY.
MAKE SOME FRIENDS.

Welcome Mayo. We will indeed find out if this quit will differ from the others. It will if you want it to. It is as simple as that. Simple, but not easy. I am quit with you.
Homework assignment. Find out what it means to post roll. Do it religiously.
You need anything, jump in chat there is an army there waiting to help you.
Got 2

Welcome to KTC. Simply put...you have a rough few days ahead (as you know). It will get easier (as you know). You can't do this alone (you missed that part last time). Spend some real time on this site. Read everything you can. Get into your Quit Group and post roll everyday---early. This thing is all about making a promise today and then not breaking that promise today--thats it. If you don't, my guess is that this "quit" will be just like your last one. PM if you need any help along the way. Glad you found us and glad you have the courage to step back in the ring. Make it count.

you made a great decision bro. Post your word daily. Private message me if you need some help.

Mayo,
Welcome to KTC, you actually have a bit of an advantage because you are pissed about your addiction right now due to a prior cave. Read everything here, I recommend the Sean Marsee and the Randy Kern stories, they will motivate the hell out of you.
Keep your word, post roll daily and each day it will get easier. Sme days will be worse than others but all in all everything gets better daily if not hourly.

Good luck my friend.

Good luck my friend.
No luck needed here. Own your quit. How you do that is by posting roll and being a man of your word. We don't try here, we do. Quit with both of you. See you on roll in the morning.
Edit: Mayo, you haven't actually posted roll yet. You did however participate in the get to know sequence in November. Roll is the post with everyone's name listed.

I'll echo what my good friend Bass has said. NO luck needed. This is pure willpower and grit. Buy a lotto ticket if you rely on luck. Quitting is done from deep within. PM me if you need help. Quit w/ you Mayo.

Mayo, you and I share similar stories. One dip after being nic free for 5 years turned me back into a nic slave almost overnight.
Its no different than last time just more infuriating that you have to do it again.
You did it before, you can do it again.
