I'm on day 2 and the fog is thick. Unfortunately, I dipped for 22 years and was up to 3 cans a day.
-
I'm a day or 2 ahead of you. Here on day 3 or so, I'm like a maniac, tons of energy, fog is lifted and looking forward to a dentist appt. in a few weeks. Hopefully 23 years of RedMan didn't do me in. You're not alone. Keep it up.
PS- I have been to the dentist in last 23 years. Just never liked what he might tell me. I'm ready to face it now.

Great choice to Man UP---We quitters are the bravest people on this planet! Now you are among the BRAVE!
Go to the November quit group and post roll. Posting Roll puts your honor on the line with your promise not to dip or use nicotine (of any kind) that day. Got to the Welcome Center (the pink/salmon colored link at the top) to find out how to post roll. Also, read everything on this site and educate yourself.
You can do this! I made this choice 113 days ago--- I dipped 90% of my waking hours! Now I barely think about dipping!!!!!!

Best of luck to you too Stoner. Happy to hear the fog will lift, it is difficult to focus on my job at the moment.

No luck JKW. Just action. Nothing should be left to chance here.
Post your promise.
Keep your promise
Repeat.
If you are a man of your word then this will be the easiest ridiculously hard thing you have ever done.
Welcome to the site. Holler if you need anything.

3 cans a day? You must've been eating that shit, not to mention throwing a ton of money in the toilet. How much were you spending a day?
Good to be quit with you. You've come to the right place. Read all you can on this site. The education you can get here on our addition to this shit is priceless. Yell if you have any questions.

Wow, I thought I dipped a lot. Welcome aboard. You are going to be a rich man within a week. If I can be of any support let me know.

Damn JKW, you must have had a fatty in every waking minute and a extra big one at that!!! But the important thing is your decision to quit the shit!! Stay strong, stay true and post roll daily. Proud to be quit with you! nico

I had a dip in every second I was not in Court. I think I was spending almost 15 dollars a day.

I know that I am ready to quit for myself and my family. The 100 benefits to stop dipping described my life. I pray that it is over.
The only thing that I did not see on the list is being such a lowlife that my kids have gotten a big chug off of my Coke to end up hurling because that was Daddy's snuff cup.
Also, the point that you dig through a snuff cup to recycle a pinch is pretty bad.
-
Have you posted roll today?

You can do this JK. I was a secret ninja chewer for years (20) and never imagined life without it. I was a pro at keeping my dirty little secret from everyone. Now I am 13 days in, which is just a start, but I've been surprised at how quickly your body and mind can adapt back to normalcy. You can do this. You want to do this. Just take it one day at a time. For me, the thought of leaving my wife and four kids without a husband and father just because I chose to chew, is enough motiviation to stay with the quit. Good luck and post roll every day. Don't think long term, think day by day - that is helping me, at least.

JK,
Until you post roll you're just another pretender that felt guilty enough for a couple of minutes to finger fuck the Internet looking for an answer.
Here's the scoop:
Flush your stash. All of it. At three cans a day, I'm sure you have your fair share of emergency, double secret, break the glass tins. All down the toilet. If you've dug through your spitters to recycle a dip, throwing cans in the trash ain't going to cut it.
Post roll. It's your daily promise to not use nic in any form. If you jam a Cuban up your piss hole... You break your promise (much to gmann's chagrin). Check out the pink welcome link at the top of this page for instructions.
Keep your fucking promise. Unless you're a gaping pussy, you'll keep your word. You miss once, the stench of pussy failure builds. People that post roll every day and always keep their word, NEVER cave.
Educate yourself. Read every inch of this site. Words of wisdom, the kern story, HOF speeches, old quit groups... Everything. It helps you through craves, it solidifies your resolve, and it makes you a better fucking person.
Get involved. Post your thoughts, respond to others, post support in other groups, trade phone numbers, send pm's, text, online chat, and call. I don't doubt someone entering the HOF with 100 posts to his name, but I don't trust that quit for a second.
Do it again tomorrow. We're one day at a time here. Those days add up... Slowly at first, but then with a growing momentum that'll shock you. You may need to count the minutes one day one, but on day 95, you'll be trying to remember to count. You just have to wake up, post roll, make it to bedtime with out dishonoring yourself, and do it again. 24 hours at a time.
You got this. Post roll, and the fine people of KTC will welcome you. Once Dante is finished, the rest of us will welcome you too.
Until that first roll call, though, you're just another pretty face that'll be without a jaw before you know it.

At 10:48 tonight, JK, you became a man. Welcome to the suck. Remember these first few days and how bad they are. Embrace the misery, for you will never have to go through it again. If you post roll every day and keep your word, this is the last day 2 you'll ever have.
This ain't easy. It's pretty simple, but not easy. You may have already read some tales of caving. Most of those tales involve people not posting roll; they may have missed a single day (seriously... Check out September 2011), or they drifted away from posting roll after they hit the hall thinking that they had their quit well in hand.
Fuck that.
You miss roll for a day, you risk a cave. It's that simple. Is it 100% that you'll cave if you miss roll? No. But why risk it? If you're a man of your word and you post roll, there is a 100% guarantee of staying quit for that day. You need to take that plunge everyday. I need to too. I'm hitting the hall in just over four days, but I'm here for the long haul. It's not because of the witty banter or barely repressed homosexual tendencies; it's because I need this place to keep me honest and quit.
Enough soapboxing. Welcome to the club. You're a part of the wolf pack now. Don't fuck up or I'll eat you.
Check your pm's.

-
Glad to be quit with you. Keep up the good work!!! You can do it.
