How to post a fresh roll page in March 18......

1) Click the underlined purple "FRESH ROLL" hyperlink near the top of every roll page in our forum

- when you click this link, an additional tab/page will open in your browser. This new page is a fresh/clean roll page without a day or date on it. The blank page you are looking at is inside my (cochese598) personal introduction page, you are not currently inside the March18 forum at this point. This was a safe place to keep it.

2) Now...just like we do when we post roll....Click Quote on top right > Delete the top "sentence" that begins with the word quote and has [ ] at each end > Delete the word quote at the bottom that has [ ] at each end > select and copy all text that remains

3) At this point, you need to go back to the 1st tab/page (March 18 Forum/The Underground Railroad of Quit) find the most recent page and hit refresh to make sure.

4) Select Reply at the top right of page...as if you are starting a new conversation or post

5) Right Click and Paste......

You should see the fresh roll page appear....before you hit post, it would be awfully nice if you inserted todays date and your day count and promise.
Title: Day 5
Post by: Cochese598 on December 01, 2017, 06:41:00 AM
Thank you for this group!! I am 47 yrs old. I just ended a 32 yr relationship with Copenhagen 4 days ago. Today is day 5. I stopped for a few months back in 1993. This is my 1st quit.
I have made many positive changes in my life the past 6 months including diet, exercise, work patterns. I have saved the worst for last. I feel stronger , healthier, and more on point than I have for 15 yrs due to better food and exercise. The only black mark on my change resume was Copenhagen. I decided I am fully prepared for this quit and began on 11-27-17 at 8:00am.

Welcome.

I see you posted roll. Posting roll is your ticket to freedom. We do it first thing in the morning, every damn day.

Nice to hear you're making so many positive changes in your life.

Proud to quit with you!

Welcome,

I have a very similar addiction history. This is a great place to help you change your life. I am on day 27 and feeling much better. Quit one day at a time and things will start turning better. I quit with you today.

Congrats on a great choice, Cochese. Posting roll is the key. By Day 3 or 4, the nic is out of your system. You're running clean for the first time in years. Another congrats!!! By Day 5, things are getting really good. Post roll, read everything on the site, then repeat. You got this, brother!

One of the things that used to kill my brief stops in the past was the thought of "quitting forever." I used to imagine upcoming holidays, events or whatever and I would begin to doubt my quit. Quitting forever is hard. That's why we don't do that here. We just quit ONE DAY AT A TIME. When you post roll, you give your word that no matter what happens today, you will not have a dip...period. No promises about tomorrow, next week or next year...just today. And anybody can go one little day, right?

Look at the Quit Groups...click around in other months and years. All those names are people just like you who are fighting ONE DAY AT A TIME. Pretty badass, huh? All of those names are folks counting on you to keep your word...for today.

We can't change the past, so fuck it. The future isn't here yet, so fuck that too. All you can do is give us your word that when your head hits the pillow tonight, it will be nic free. Then fight like hell to keep your word...because that's what we're doing. Don't look for short cuts or easy outs. Take the Nic Bitch on toe to toe. And kick her ass ONE DAY AT A TIME. Take note of your success.

Congrats on a choosing to save your own life.

Cochese598,

You made a wise decision.

Welcome to the group.

The main way to be successful is to just decide that you have quit. Once you stop the negotiating in your head as to whether you will do one more or not the rest becomes far more simple.

Next, you will learn to distract your attention from your desire for a dip to anything else that interests you. This ability to change your focus will guarantee your success and make your quit that much easier.

When you place a dip in your mouth, your brain releases sugars. Well, those sugars are now going to be gone.

However, you can replace them with OJ or other fruit juices with sugar. This will provide some comfort, especially in your initial quit days.

Make sure to exercise with weights and cardio when you feel that nagging tension in your muscles, you feel that rage, when you can not sleep and when you can not focus. Exercise really helps.

Here is one that most people overlook. Get at least 3 square meals a day. Hunger can really bring on those urges so squash those urges before they come. Eat full healthy meals and do not let yourself get excessively hungry. You will see this helps a great deal.

I waited until I was 59 quit after using tobacco for 40 years. You are wise to quit now.

I quit with you today.

Thanks dundipin. I've been talking to a few other new folks about the benefits I feel exercise brings to this process. It's helping me in every aspect of being a better human. Starting and doing any exercise program shares a lot in common with quitting. 1st day is hardest, Mental toughness, determination to be better.
Thanks for the positive words.

How to post a fresh roll page in March 18......

1) Click the underlined FRESH ROLL hyperlink near the top of every roll page in our forum

- when you click this link, an additional tab/page will open in your browser. This new page is a fresh/clean roll page without a day or date on it. The blank page you are looking at is inside my (cochese598) personal introduction page, you are not currently inside the March18 forum at this point. This was a safe place to keep it.

2) Now...just like we do when we post roll....Click Quote  On the bottom box Select All  Select CUT...not copy............Now stop for a minute

3) At this point, you need to go back to the 1st tab/page (March 18 Forum/The Underground Railroad of Quit) find the bottom of the last page and hit refresh to make sure.

4) Select Add Reply at the bottom right of page...as if you are starting a new conversation or post

5) Right Click and Paste......

You should see the fresh roll page appear....before you hit post, it would be awfully nice if you inserted todays date and your day count and promise.
