Hi all, my name is Rick and I spit the last copenhagen out of my mouth 2 hours ago, and dumped my can in the toilet. I've been chewing almost 30 years and I've had enough.
I'm excited for this, and today I'm fired up about it. But a big part of me is scared as well. After many failed attempts at quitting, I know whats coming. I know the craves, headaches, nic-rages, and the depression that comes. its not fun. But its the last time I'll go thru it, so lets do this.
I"m sure I'll need some support along the way, so I'm grateful that I found this site. Just reading thru the articles, etc, makes me feel stronger and feel like it can be done.

Welcome to KTC Rick. Joining is one of the best decisions you can make. I see you figured out posting roll, good start.
It sounds like you know what to expect the first couple of days.... Hang tough. drink lots of water and exercise will help a little.
Spend some time reading the site, there is also a link on the upper right to live chat. that is a great place to visit for support.
Check your inbox, you have mail. Call me if you need anything.

Welcome Rick. This will be one of the best decisions you have made in your life.
You seem to have the program down, but read, read and read some more. Exchange numbers with other quitters, get to know and support them. Most importantly, post roll every morning. Get to understand nicotine addiction and all the lies we all lived with about it.
PM me if I can help you.

Hi Rick. I am new here as well, but I will gladly help you along the way. If you need anything just message me. We will make the April 2013 HOF!
-
Rick listen to all the advise! For a couple weeks I suggest that you spend every spare minute online and get lost in reading and responding to others. For me that saved my life and made the days fly by, I still come here when I need reminders. Life as a user I spent every minute with my copensnuff and when it was gone I needed a replacement. I used KTC as that replacement for quite some time till I started gaining confidence in my quit and had really good contacts (quit brothers and sisters) to fall back on. Pm me if I can help.

I just dug up my old intro from last January, because now that its September, I have officially been quit longer than any other time in my life. (I had a failed attempt about 20 years ago that lasted almost 9 months - see HOF speech).
Anyway - I am really happy with how things have gone, and after 241 days, I'm happy to say that it feels AMAZING to be free! A dip is no longer the first thing I think about when something stressful happens in my life, and for months, that was not the case. I wasn't sure if it were possible to get to this point, but I know now that it is! I'm not cured by any means. I'm still an addict. But I'm an addict who is free and in control of his life!
Finally just a big thanks to KTC, and to all the guys who have helped me along the way, and those who allowed me to help them as well which strengthens my own quit. I especially want to mention SETH, who was instrumental in encouraging me during my first 100 days. You are a badass, my friend.
ODAAT!

This is great rick. You want to know how long I made it pre ktc? I never made it one whole day. How sad,, right??? I attempted to quit several times, but by the end of the day I figured I could get that one and start again in the morning. The morning came and I figured what the hell. Let me get that first dip in and I'll start again afterwards. Well,,, there you have it. I couldn't even make it one day. Thanks KTC.
