Hey Yall,
Im a 22 year old ex-Combat Medic for the Marine Corps. I served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Korea. And the funniest thing was that the military kept sending us smokes and dip. But I dont know how I would have gotten through the training and patrols and 20-26 hour flights without that little round can in my pocket. Ive been dipping and chewing for almost 4 years now, and I've been wanting to quit for about 6 months, but the timing was never right.(Or so I kept telling myself) 'bang head' But now, I'm getting ready to move to Arizona, I'm a civilian again, and its time to start fresh, and I'd rather keep my jaw for that day when I finally get married and have kids. Something tells me that nobody will wanna marry a dude with half a face. But I'm going to quit this time around. The only thing that sucks is that I miss that wad between my cheek and gum... :( You'll see me on here som much, you're gonna get sick of me pretty soon.

Yeah, I was a Navy Combat Corpsman, but never saw a ship.
I've been trying to kick the nic bitch out the door for a while, and have never been able.
Then the corner of my tongue started to go numb and I decided ready or not, I need to stop RIGHT NOW.
Plus, I dont enjoy dipping anymore. I used to, but for the last year or so, I just did it to feed the habit.
And it doesnt help that dipping seems to be a pre-requisite to being in the Marine Corps. I can count the number of people I knew who didnt dip on one hand. But its not exactly socially acceptable outside of the military.
Dont get me wrong, I did it anyway. And I didnt care. I'd walk around the mall with a giant dip in. I never hid it, if I wasnt sleeping or eating, I was dipping.

Welcome to the quit man. Ive only been quit a week today and have had a problem with the urge to take that fat dip not because i missed the nicotine, but because i was so used to walking around with the feeling of a fat dip in my lip. But like you, i am getting married in april, and dont have kids, and would like to have a whole face for my wedding pictures and when i decide to have kids. I did end up buying the no nicotine no tobacco chew called hooch, it takes like a hookers ass but satisfies the feeling of having a dip in. Anyways if you need anything holler. And thank you for what youve done for your country.
