I have been dipping since I was 14. I am now 32. I quit dipping 3 days after my son was born, that was almost 9 years ago. I started back on the can after a harmless pinch from my boss 9 months later. I haven't been able to lay it down until 10 days ago. It is difficult but feels great!!!!! I know now the errors of my first experience quitting. Don't get one. Don't bum one. Don't even think you can lay it down.

Addiction is a wild thing. What you have to get your head wrapped around is the fact you are an addict. A nicotine addict. You are absolutely correct, you can never have one.
Welcome to the party. Glad you found us.

I dont know - I admitted I was 'powerless over tobacco' for quite some time and didnt have the balls to quit.....I knew I was an addict, but perfectly fine with trying to quit tomorrow....
This website has provided some extra inspiration for me as I didnt give a shit about admitting I was an addict. It is reading all the stuff you maniax write that helps keep me going.....
KEEP READING SHIT on the site and stay quit with me!!

You know as well as a lot of us how powerful addiction is. I'm with you I've hade similar stop experiences. How easy it is to convince yourself one won't hurt. ( wrong). The tools to quit are here but that doesn't mean you will be successful, you have got to have total commitment. If you don't you just as well Keep shoveling that cancer candy in your face and save yourself the pain of withdrawal. You can always wait till your son gives you grand kid and quit before they see there grandpa dipping. (that's my story). Maybe you'll be luck and still have a face and be alive.

The Difference Between Stopper Quitter
Written By Notdeadyet
Stopper: A stopper uses words like hope try want can't. A stopper thinks he or she is a special butterfly. A stopper really does not understand or believe that they are an addict. A stopper feels sorry for themself. A stopper thinks life is not fair. A stopper knows deep down inside that they will dip again even before they "attempt" to stop. A stopper is a slave.
Quitter: A quitter eliminates the option of dipping from their life. A quitter's heart is filled with hate and disgust for nicotine and Big Tobacco; there is no room for self-pity. A quitter is willing to suffer through every second for the next 24 hours because he or she has too much integrity to break their word. A quitter knows that they are an addict and will do everything in their power to avoid ever putting that cancer-causing poison in their mouth again. A quitter is a free man or woman.

I am a quitter again. I am trying to figure out this site. So far seems everyone has the same goal.....STAY OFF THAT SHIT!!!!! First off, I quit almost 9 years ago for my new born son. That lasted all of 9 months. Took an innocent pinch of the COPE, and who'da thunk it..... Back on the wagon. That lasted until 24/JUNE/12. I learned from my mistake. I will always crave, I will always want, but I want my life and health more!!!! There I am in a conflicted nut shell. Thanks

Good luck buddy!

Luck is not needed. You just quit today, then do the same tomorrow. It's 100% pure will and fortitude.

June, congrats on your decision to quit. You can do it!
First, let's get you off on the right foot here.
We flat out QUIT cold turkey on this site. No Nic in any form. Period. Post roll, declare your quit and hold yourself and others accountable. There is a ton of great information on this site, read it and you will know what to expect next.
There is no innocent pinch, ever. Chew is highly addictive. We are all nicotine addicts. The sooner you accept that the easier maintaining your quit will be. If you think you are just trying to break a bad habit, you will likely fail.
Yes, you will always crave, but the craves will get weaker as you get stronger.
This site works because of accountability. Post roll, get to know your quit brothers and sisters. PM me if I can help you.

Welcome to the site. You will post Roll Call as often as you think of LOOT. Which will be at least once a day. Take Roll Call seriously, as if your life depends on it because well, it does.
