Title: Day 1
Post by: Phalanx on December 14, 2009, 01:44:00 PM
So, after *many* failed attempts in the past over a 20 year stretch, I've decided to f-ing get it done. Sick of charging hard at everything else in life only to feel like a powerless douchbag when up against quitting nicotine. I'm a reasonably intelligent guy, and it just blows me away that I have continued on even when there's been visable damage to the gumline - how f-ing stupid is that? I've made ALL SORTS of concessions to nicotine over the years which ended last night.

LOL - you sound just like the rest of us!

Welcome and you have made a great decision. Post roll and give us your word that you will not use any form of nicotine for the next 24 hours - every day - first thing - then just be a man of your word every day. Sounds simple - and it is. Not easy - but you most certainly can and will get through it. One day at a time.

Congrats. All sounds familiar. I am 40 and dipped for 24yrs. before doing what you are. I am on day 7 feeling pretty good but it helps to have this sight and to tell people so failure hurts more. Good luck and lean on everyone.
