Hello everyone! My name is Dustin and I have been dipping for 16 years. I am 32 now and have decided its time to give it up. I have tried Chantix in the past, nicorette, the patch etc but nothing has worked. Chantix stopped the cravings, but did not make me feel like myself. Sunday night around 9pm I decided to stop cold turkey. I had a dentist appointment the following day, which strengthened my urge to quit. It has been almost 4 days, 91 hours to be exact, since I have had a dip. The "fog" seems to be lifting ever so slightly. However, since I have quit I have had a ton of energy. Everyday this week after work I have had the energy to run 2 miles, and I hate cardio!!!!

Quick question. I like the Roll Call idea, however is there a Roll Call section. I cannot seem to find a single roll call!

Hey dplow – welcome and congratulations on your quit. 91 hours is amazing. Look at the upper left part of this page, see the gay pink little “Welcome Center”? Click on that and read EVERYTHING from top to bottom. That should get you started. Post roll right after you read it, that is your promise and not optional. Then read read read. Everything here. HOF speeches, words of wisdom, others’ intro threads. In the upper right there is a “Live Chat” button. Go there to chat with other folks that are struggling. Welcome to the family, proud to be quit with you today!

I'm on the whacko plan: I gained 11 in 10 days. I'm proud of every pound, it's my badge of quit honor. I'll start attacking it soon but for now, screw it.

Nice work dplowman!!! It's going to be tough, but you can do it. I went to the dentist just before I quit. I got a clean bill of health. I hugged the lady who inspected my mouth, tears coming from my eyes. I was so afraid something bad would be found. It sucks having to wonder and live in fear of what might come. Anyway, good work and I quit with you today.
Be safe and keep up the fight.

I know what you mean Funnylatino. Every six months you go to the dentist wondering if today is the day you have cancer. I say NO MORE! I am quit 5 days and looking forward to joining the Hall of Fame with my November brothers and sisters!
Stay strong over the weekend!

Welcome to the grind dplowman! Proud to quit with you. All you need to stay quit for today is the support of November and the thought of never doing days 1-4 again!
-
Thanks! Those first three days were miserable. But the fourth day was all worth it!

Trust me it only gets better. Yea you will hit some rough spots, but currently on day 32, and feel 10x better then the first week.
Keep plowing through, and knocking days off. Each day will get a little better.
Proud to quit with you (although I hate your avator, browns fan myself.)

We have a lot in common being fans of the Browns and Bengals. Hopefully are young QB's make strides this year. I say we combine our teams together and try to take out the Steelers and Ravens!
