Title: D Day is Here
Post by: carpy1 on September 20, 2011, 11:52:00 AM
I have quit many times in the 26 years I've chewed, but this time is different. I am ready to kick this addicitions butt! Today is day one of my journey. Can anyone help me find the January 2012 quit group?

I just joined as well. I believe you are with me in the December 2011 quit group. Welcome, and let's do this!

Well you recognize step one of the process......you state you are an addict!!!! I used to call it a "bad habbit" when I quit in the past but now that I have realized it's an addiction I have been quit for 40 days! My other "quits" were up to 4-5 days and I'd be buying a can on the way to work! This site has saved my life!

Congrats man. Good to see you make it here. Get ready for a long ride the next week or so. It sucked, but it's still something I 100% believe that I would not trade in for 45 minutes of dip just so I could lie to myself to make it seem better.
I still have trouble thinking of myself and dipping in terms of an addiction. I hate thinking that this is something that completely controls my life. Even though I could nonchalantly say it, I don't think I ever truly believed it before. I always thought that I could put it down whenever even though when I tried I would get a few hours not days.
