Title: day 1
Post by: jbedford1 on September 09, 2012, 12:45:00 PM
Sure glad I found this web site. I had made the decision to quit, but was gonna just gut it out by myself, then I found this. Thanks for the help and support cmark! Married with two grown boys and two grandkids, wife Donna with 26 yrs of marriage. Next week or so will be a test for her. 25 year retiree of US Army, working as a welder now. Just turned 49 in July and made a decision to get in great shape before 50, but then it dawned on me that working out and running, but continuing to chew Cope was not the answer......which brings me to Day one. Have to give a little credit to Larry Winget. If you know his books you know what I mean when I say "I'm WILLING." :D

Welcome I also have 2 grand kids and quit, wanting to continue watching them grow up. Your wife shouldn't have to deal with your pain and anger, that is what we are for. My wife of 32 yrs has been my biggest supporter, she is so glad to have the bitch out of our relationship. Pm me I'd be glad to share my story and trade #'s

Welcome brother!! We all fight this battle together, we have all been were you currently are and have won each day by posting roll. It isn't goin to be easy, but its worth it. Drink lots of water, get some seeds, gum and hard candy. Most importantly, as cmark told you in chat, show up EVERYDAY and post roll.

So I did my introduction on Sep 9, and I'm back today on Nov 11 for an update. I got to Day 55/56 before I caved. The process of coming clean wasn't easy. Not a problem at all if you enjoy being referred to as a "no guts, weak minded individual." I knew coming clean wasn't going to be easy, and got what I expected, but had to drop out of the December quit crew and re-enter the February crew. I wanted my 100 days mark to be a true 100 day mark, so this was the only answer for my part. Why did I cave? No one wants excuses.....I didn't want the quit for selfish reasons. That's the only answer. I'm glad and proud to say that I'm currently quit for 9 days and headed to 100 and a lifetime again.

It's been a sort of a roller coaster ride to this point. Ups, downs.....getting myself back on the right track, and getting back onto the road of quit one day at a time. If there's one thing I've learned to this point is that that really is the key....ONE DAY AT A TIME. The only thing more important than that is plugging in fully to the support system available on this site and then kicking the Nic bitch's ass each and every day.

One thing's for sure, I definately can't go wrong having the three of you in my corner. Thanks for seeing in me what I didn't even see in myself at the start of this roller coaster! Now I quit one day at a time with all of you.

Today is day 100 quit for me. Originally a day I was having trouble visualizing, but as time passed the way to the HOF became more and more clear. I've gotten invaluable support from too many on this site to mention, but you know who you are.....and I thank you.
