I just found this site and I gotta say, I've been doin some laughing. So many in the same boat.
I quit 8 days ago on the last day of deer season here in northern CA. I realized i had run out as I pulled into my driveway and was faced with having to drive all the way into town to get a can. So for the first time in 30 years of chewing, I said f-it, walked in the house and went to bed. I won't say it's been easy, the first 5 days I couldn't think of anything but getting a can. I refuse to be controlled by an addiction. I had gotten so bad I'd put one in right before I went to sleep and would wake up and put in another in the middle of the night. When I woke up in the morning I'd spit out my chew, brush my teeth and throw another one in. I know it's gonna take a while to get over the constant urges, but im too far quit to go back now.
