Hello All-
Day one has gone by...what a ride. I definitely do not feel 100%. I quit drinking 444 days ago and sobriety has open my eyes. I realized that I have been lying to myself simply to continue to add nicotine to my blood stream. Amazing how those chemicals in our brain control so much. Anyway, I am here to stay and appreciate this type of forum. I will be posting roll, and I am sure I will "F" it up.
Thanks,
Wil

Hey Wil! Congratulations on a great decision! Also, great job posting roll in February. The folks there will definitely help you on your journey.

Welcome Will! Congrats on your decision. Keep posting roll, read as much as you can and reach out to anyone at anytime. You got this!!

Congrats on a great decision. Glad you posted roll already. The next few days are the worst you are going to experience. Drink lots of water, exercise as much as you can, get a good supply of seeds, gum, candy, fake whatever you need to keep that shit out of your mouth. Come in here to bitch and yell at us we can take it. Don't take it out on loved ones. Read everything you can on here. Reach out to others on here when you need to. Your in for a bit of a fight but you can do it!! It does get better and the freedom is so worth it.
PM me if you need anything.

Nicotine is quite a drug. When you use alcohol to the point of abuse, you know that you are doing it to dull the senses. To escape. To go "to a happy place". Well, atvleastvwhile you are doing it you think it is happy.
Nicotine dulls your senses and you don't even know it. Even the most "open" addict here has lied about their addiction - to sneak away, to run to the store, so a colleague doesn't find out or so a new hot date doesn't. Until we quit, we push the lies aside.
Dude day 1 sucks. You'll never relive it. Post roll. Keep your word
You will not believe what is ahead. Just like the freedom from alcohol, the joy of not having this misery in your life is indescribable.

Nice job Wil!! Welcome. You will find everything you need on here to stay quit. Feb group is shaping up to be some bad ass quitters!
You will find people who hold you accountable to posting every day, people who 'post roll then ghost', and most that are somewhere in-between.
We are all additcs on here, at least the ones that are successful in their quit and have admitted that. There isnt one guy or gal on this site that hasnt been through what your are going to experience. reach out. exchange digits with folks in your group.
Bottom line is, read all you can on this site, check back in here on your intro page, let us know how you are doing. The first few days will suck. Remember how much it sucks, and how much you dont want to ever go through again
Before you know it, you'll be in double digits, and reaching out to a newbie like yourself looking for help. Its the ultimate full circle effect.
Proud to be quit with you today, hang tough!

Will welcome to the family! Post early and often! That's the key to success here. Get numbers, read, listen, learn stay active here as much as you can it helps tremendously! Remember whatever you're going through some still are and most of us have been. If the anger, rage sits in, and most of the time it does, come on here or in your group, vent , raise hell, scream we don't give a shit we can take and occasionally give it back. Sit down, relax , fasten your seat belt , keep your hands inside and enjoy the ride! Great job posting roll! Quit on! I quit with you today my friend!

Awesome advice above. Soak it up, and take it to heart and you will win the battle today. Quit with you today and welcome to KTC!

Will,
There is one way to fuck up roll, and that is to not post roll. Post daily, post early. Keep your word. Basically keep doing what you are doing, and you will have the tools necessary to manage your addiction.
I quit with you today!

Messing up roll is a tradition. You just stay quit the rest of the day, roll can be fixed.
