Awesome serrasalmus always nice to see new quitters. And true it gets harder the older you get but that's how it is; plus everyone is different too. Just remember there are people here to help, any time of day. get some numbers, add people to your contact list, use the chat and post your roll. Quit Hard Every Day!

Great start on your quit. You never quit before only took a break. Lots of us took breaks before we found this site and now we are quit.

Read everything on KTC. The knowledge and inspiration are here. PM me if you need anything.

Good to see you hear Serrasalmus. I'm 53, been at the stinky brown weed since I was 21 (that's about $40,000 worth), have quit a few times in the past. This time I've had enough. By the way, I got started again when I Mr. Mommed while my wife was in the Air Force. And I'm now on Day 34 and feeling good. I does get harder as you get older; would be a very good idea for many reasons to make this quit your last one.

The two most important things I have learned:

1) Fellowship is critical
2) Staying quit is harder than quitting. Many times, I've told myself, "just one since the kids are out of town" only to find myself a week later solidly into a can a day habit.

I read somewhere on KTC, "you're always only $5 and a convenience store from a can a day habit".

I would have caved two weeks into my quit at New Year (kids were out of town) if not for that damned roll call. No matter what else I think about it, it works.

Hi Billy and welcome. Sounds like you have a good start on your quit- congrats! And good choice to build out your support network here. Having others to keep you accountable and to help you through tough times is invaluable. It's made it so I actually believe I can quit for good- by doing it one day at a time and following the plan here.

PM me if you want another number to add to your list of supporters. I'm in northern CO too, so i can even hunt you down if you need someone to smack the shit out of your hand if you ever get so tempted!

Glad to quit with you today!

Hey Billy,
Here's another welcome from a fellow CO quitter. Read everything you can on this site. Listen to what people tell you. Post Roll and keep your word. Use chat to connect with others, get support, and make some friends. Now go look at your baby and determine if today is too hard for you to quit. See you in chat! Stay quit!
