Title: INTRO - A LIL LATE
Post by: cdr2010 on July 24, 2013, 06:28:00 AM
Well, I am on day 18 of my quit today. I figured I should go ahead and get this intro out there. better late than never I guess.
My name is Chip. I am from south texas. Lots of farmers, ranchers, and refinery workers. Everyone that was anyone dipped. At least that what it seemed like. I know in my family, most of the men did. I took my first dip at the county livestock show when I was 14. I didnt fall in love with cope immediately, thats for sure. But, shortly after that, I found the redseal in my dads truck. That was a different story. I dont want to make excuses, but before that I dont think I actually knew that my dad dipped. When I found those cans, its like i knew this is what i had to do. So I started stealing dips from his cans. I think i was probably hooked now. By 16, I had buddies that were 18 buy me cans of the seal. I was dipping in the locker room after football practice, in ag class, in other classes throughout the day, after school in the barn while i fed the animals, at our ranch, and of course while i was in the bathroom at home. i was dipping anytime i was not around my mom. Dad would tell me, "son, you need to quit that crap, its no good!". Like i was gonna quit doing something he was doing. wish i would've listened then. well, i have been dippin ever since. bout a can a day since i was 18. 14 years of killing my self! I am so glad that i found this website. I have never made it this far into my quit, and i have no doubts that it is b/c of this site and all the support here. so thanks to everyone involved, and quit everyday! i quit today!
