Hi, I am a 35 y/o professional, been on the can since about 14 y/o. Went through a divorce about a year ago, spend lots of time with my 7 y/o son, dating a new girl..........embarassed about my "private" habit.
I need to get off of this stuff asap. I am spending wayyyy too much time sitting and dipping. I have tried cold turkey about twice this year alone, lasts about two days and can't take it anymore, the nights I am home alone it gets me...
Help :(

Welcome to the first day of your quit bro!
First make sure you check out the welcome center and read as much information on here as you can!
Second post roll everyday, it is your promise to quit any and all nicotene. Posting means you are shaking our hand looking everyone in the eye and saying" I will not use nicotene today!"
I know your up to the challenge but make sure you take this seriously, this site is great for advise and knowledge, as well as the best way to vent so you dont go off or your son or girlfriend remember they didnt make you start this back when you were 14 nor should they have to deal with your rage when you made the choice to quit!
PM me if you have any questions, and read, visit, post on this site as much as you can.

Bro, welcome.
First of all, you've come to the right place. IF you're truly committed to quitting, this is the place to be.
If you're not, nothing will help you.
However, you know the reasons you should quit if you're really ready to do it, all you've got to do is quit.
Believe me, the process goes from there. Through ups and downs and twists and turns.
But...
As soon as you make the decision to quit, there will be an uncountable number of other dudes here, who are in the same boat as you, who will simultaneously sign up to help hold you accountable.
Heavy duty accountability, bro. Like monkeys on a piece of bologna.
If you let it, it works. Honest to God.
Give a shout or a text if you need to. There are other dudes who are better at this than I am, but none more willing to lend a hand.
Welcome aboard, bro.
Steve

You got this plinker. Give the 'ol nic bitch a kick to the face and take control of your life.
Like SWJ said, you're going to find brothers here you never knew you had. The only thing we ask is simple. Be accountable to your word, one day at a time.
Welcome.
