So I have been 55 days without a lipper. Suffering from depression (although it has got better), I've been suffering from major anxiety, and terrible acid reflux. Still taking it a day at a time, but I will never go back to dipping. I'm done with it. I'm hoping that it gets better soon. . .

55 days on your own is impressive. it does get better over time.
Consider joining a quit group, the December 2015 quit group has a bunch of people who are at the same stage in their quit as you. You will reach 100 days quit in December with them. Say hi, post roll, ask questions as you did here.

55 days alone is bad ass. I'm not sure that I could have done that. I am at 65 days today and the support I've gotten from my quit group and the other quitters here has been amazing. We quit one day at a time (ODAAT) every damn day (EDD) here.
It would be great to have you in the December 15 group Scott. Each morning we post roll which is our promise not to use nicotine for the next 24 hours. We are not liars - we keep that promise. Then we repeat the next day. We also hold each other accountable to that promise. It would be an honor to see your name on that list with mine every day.

There is no doubt that nicotine is a drug that effects the body, especially the brain. You become addicted to it, and then whenever you are feeling down or anxious, you suck on that dip desperately until you feel better. Hell, if the anxiety is bad enough you double the amount of dip you do in a day, and constrict your lip around your teeth to speed the release of nicotine from the dip. I guarantee you know what I mean.
So all of these years you have been using nicotine whenever you feel down or anxious, and now you need to develop another method to cope with this depression and anxiety. Don't just sit there an wait for it to go away, start doing something healthy about it: exercise regularly, eat better, stay away from alcohol when you are feeling this way, talk to others about your problems in order to problem solve, start putting together goals so that you can overlook the bad stuff because you are an a path towards something worthwhile.
If the acid reflux is out of control, go see a doctor about it to get some relief.
I don't want you sitting there suffering second guessing your quit because things have gotten worse for you in some ways since you stopped. Don't take a passive quit, take an active quit, and start addressing these other problems in your life with solutions. Nicotine, amigo, is not one of the solutions.
