Title: 6 days in
Post by: Longy22 on February 04, 2011, 10:44:00 PM
Hi everyone - I went out on a limb 6 nights ago and put the can down, for the last time...and this time I mean it. I have had times where I have done this before, but it feels different this time. I have chewed and smoked off and on (1 off, while 1 was on) for the past 15 years, dropped the smokes all together 1 year ago and went into double time with my chew habit. Over the last few months I have found myself staying up until 2am or later waiting to finish my last dip, and then waking up at 6am just to throw another one in, I was a prisoner.

I have to admit, when I would consider quitting, I could not imagine that anything would be fun without a chew anymore, but I got to day 6 and I'm still alive.....now with a healthy addiction to fire balls.

I will be coming back here daily, and I look forward to chatting with some of you.

Thanks for being here!

Go on over to Quit Groups and find May HOF group, which means you will reach the Hall Of Fame (100 days quit) in May 2011, and post your Day 6. Then get up early tomorrow morning and instead of throwing in that early morning dip, get on here and post roll. Posting roll is our promise to each other that we will not use nicotine in any form for that day. Read everything you can on the site. If you need help with anything, let me know. Good to be quit with you.

EDIT: I see you have already posted your Day 6. Great...get up tomorrow, post your word and then have a great day knowing you aren't gong to be using nicotine.

And I thought I was the only one that stayed up way too long because I wanted to dip in peace and quiet without others interrupting. Glad to have you along in your quit.

Nope, You aren't the only one, that was always one of the best dips of the day, either that peaceful evening one, or a lip full on a chilly morning with that first cup of coffee. All in the past though.

Congrats! Now the fun begins. Protect your quit at all costs. It is literally life and death. Just quit for today. Or when that gets too difficult, quit for the hour, the next 15 minutes, whatever. You CAN do this. Post roll, keep your word, repeat. Simple, just not easy.

Proud to be quit with you!
